I’ve always been thankful that the friendships I made in elementary school, junior high, and high school have transcended both the years and the miles. Since graduation I left Maine for college in Florida, then back to Maine to work for a few years, then back to Florida for a job, and now here in Kentucky. All the back-and-forth could definitely cause strain on some connections.
The one thing that isn’t always easy is the ability to cheer each other up. During high school if any of my gal pals were feeling blue over a guy or a grade or anything else, the fix was easy. We headed out to share a large order of french fries and then back to my house to watch the movie Grease.
Not too long ago one of my BFFs from Maine was having a rough few days. You know those weeks were absolutely nothing goes right? She had a couple of those back-to-back and I wanted to do something for her. So I popped over to one of my favorite gift basket merchants and had a little pick-me-up delivered to her house.
Shortly after I received the notice that it had arrived I received a really heart-warming text from her. There had been a few tears on her part, because when someone does something out of the blue for you, you feel a little touched, right? I know that even receiving an unexpected letter or email from a friend makes the day even better.
Smile It Forward with Invisalign
Invisalign is encouraging everyone to perform a random act of kindness right now, too. It could be something as easy as a phone call or buying a stranger behind you a cup of coffee. And if you want more of a grand gesture, they’d like to help out. Just enter their Smile It Forward Sweepstakes for a chance to win a $500 VISA gift card for you, and one for a friend, too!
Invisalign knows a lot about smiles. They understands that a smile is an amazing asset that contributes to people’s overall self-esteem. So they offer a service for adults and teens that involves a series of nearly invisible, removable “aligners” that gradually straighten teeth without metal or wires (sounds good to me!). Check out the Invisalign website for more info.
Awesome giveaway! I think I would give the 2nd card to my sister.
What a wonderful campaign! I love the idea of sharing a smile
What a wonderful giveaway what a great way to win just to smile. Who does not love smiling?
You can pay me to smile anytime! I even entered this on someone’s site!
thanks,
Mitch
This is an amazing project. I think I would give the card to my Mom. She would be shocked.
I’d probably give the second card to my sister.
Great giveaway…this would be perfect for one of my adult kids…the only hard part would be picking which one!
I’d give the second card to the Ronald McDonald House (if that was okay – if it didn’t have to be one actual friend). If it was to go to a friend, I’d give it to my best friend, because that’s what best friends do
