The Big Game is almost here!  Did your favorite team make it to the match up between the final two?  Or are you just planning to watch for the commercials?

Either way, you’re probably going to want some tailgating food.  I like to serve lots of finger foods, then mix in one or two main entrees.  So I thought I’d share a few of my favorite dessert and appetizer recipes sure to please no matter how big or small your crowd will be.

The other day I was shopping at Sam’s Club and I saw something interesting in the freezer case.  Pretzel-Crusted Mozzarella Sticks.  They sounded amazing and I wondered why on Earth no one had thought of them before.

I knew our freezer was packed full, so instead I just took a picture of the box to remind me of them for later.  (Am I the only weirdo that does that?  I’m always taking pictures of things I want to try later or look up review of online.)  When I got home I was talking to hubby about them and then it dawned on me: why don’t I just make my own?

And so I did.  They are really easy to make and there’s a good chance that you have most, if not all, the ingredients already on hand.  Not counting freezing time they take less than 15 minutes to make so you can be munching on ooey, gooey melted cheese with a bit of a crunchy, salty exterior in no time flat. The other day I was at the store browsing through the freezer case.  We were planning for guests that would be coming over to watch football and my cart was already quite full with frozen foods.  But then I spotted Nestle Crunch Dipped Drumsticks and decided I just had to make room.

I tucked them in my cart and finished my Walmart run.  I had picked up some of our – and our guests’ – favorite foods for our get-together.  Stouffer’s lasagna, Hot Pockets, DiGiorno pizza, and Edy’s ice cream.  We would definitely have lots of yummy goodness for our party. Continue reading »

It’s that time of year again!  Time for football which also means time for food.  Because really, as awesome as the games are, who wants to watch the pigskin fly around without some game day snacks?

The Big Game is still a few weeks away, but there have been plenty of playoff games each week leading up to it.  This has given us the opportunity to do some test drives, so to say, as to what combination of favorite game day recipes and quick snacks we’ll serve that day.  We’ve also come up with a few games and other fun activities for our guests.

Tyson Any'tizers Hot Wings and Tyson Crispy Chicken Strips #SuperMoments #ad #cbias

One thing I know we’ll be serving is wings because, well, we love wings.  Specifically we’ll be serving up the Tyson Any’tizers Hot Wings.  They’ve got a bit of heat without being too hot, there is just the right amount of sauce, and they taste really great. Continue reading »

Any form of potatoes will probably always be top of my list for side dishes or appetizers.  Partly from growing up in a potato-farming community and partly because they just taste so darn good.  Plus they’re incredibly versatile, so there’s not much chance to get bored with them.

Hubby and the kiddos also love potatoes, so they’re in pretty constant rotation with our meals.  Mostly we had done mashed, roasted reds, homemade fries, with the occasional hasselback or crash hot potatoes.  But then I ran across a new way to dish up potatoes and we have not looked back since.

Crispy Parmesan Potatoes Recipe

Seriously, once you make these potatoes you’re going to want them all. the. time.  Hubby tries to think of meals where I will suggest them as a side because he loves them so much.  They’re golden and crispy on the bottom and warm and soft on the inside.  My stomach is growling just thinking about them.
