I received Super Duper products in order to facilitate my review. All thoughts and words are my own.

A bit ago I shared with you our experiences with the MagneTalk game from Super Duper.  Creating stories with the magnets and scenes was creating lots of opportunities for imaginative play, so we were looking through the site to see if there were any other similar games.  There ended up being a number of games we found that looked like they would be fun.

MagneTalk Mealtime Game from Super Duper Publications

The first game we selected was the MagneTalk Mealtime Game.  After enjoying our first MagneTalk product so much, I knew this would be a hit, too.  The set includes 48 magnets and a game board that breaks a dinner plate up into the major food groups.  You can have your child sort by food type, create a balanced meal, or make up silly food pairings.

Photo Fish Classifying Magnetic Game from Super Duper Publications

Second we chose the Photo Fish Classifying Magnetic Game.  This is a fun game that comes with a plastic “pond” mat, two fishing poles with magnets at the end, 55 magnetic foam photo fish, 5 category fish, 60 stickers, and a plastic tackle box in which to store it all.  The only “assembly” you need to do is to stick the stickers on each of the foam fish.

Add the fish to the “pond” and choose a category: Transportation, Clothing, Animals, Food, and Around the Home.  Ask the kiddos to going fishing and reel in a fish that has an image from the selected category.  You can leave them face up for younger kiddos, or turn them face down and combine a memory game challenge for older kids.

Hopping Frogs Game from Super Duper Publications

Next was the Hopping Frogs Language Game.  Bubbles has a pretty good vocabulary, but there’s always room to grow with toddlers.  This game gives her the chance to think through concepts and come up with the appropriate word.  For example, the card (there are 420 in the set) might say “When you leave, you shut the door.  When you come in, you ____ the door” where “open” is the appropriate answer.  Of course, her favorite part is “hopping” the frogs from the lily pads to the game board.

Word Joggers for Categories Game from Super Duper Publications

We also received Word Joggers for Categories.  It’s played like bingo with types of items – like clothing – instead of numbers.  There are a total of 30 boards, as well as 396 cards broken down into Vocabulary Picture Cards, Attribute Cards, and Category Cards.  The instruction booklet has multiple game ideas with varying degrees of difficulty, but we most like to play it just like bingo.

Any of these games would make fun Christmas gifts, especially if you’re having folks over for the holidays.  There’s no arguing over who gets to play with the toy, because everyone can play together.  And that might be the best gift of all!

Which Super Duper Publications game is your favorite?
