Depending on where you live, school has either just gone back in or is getting ready to start soon.  According to my Facebook stream, back to school shopping is still in full swing as many friends are posting and comparing their school supply lists.

You got the pencils, notebooks, backpack - but here are 5 unique school supplies that you just might not have thought of!

I noticed some odd choices – only yellow notebooks, specific name-brand pencils – that showed up on a few lists.  But there are a few items that no one has mentioned that I think are perfect for back to school.

Bubbles celebrated her 4th birthday back in February.  I had big plans of sharing the entire thing with you at that time, but we were all sick both prior to and following her birthday, so sharing the details kind of slid to the back burner.

One Bowl Elsa Doll Cake Tutorial for a Frozen Birthday Party

As she’s getting older now and definitely has her own opinion on things, I let her choose her own party theme this year.  We looked at some different options online and in the stores, and in the end she (unsurprisingly) chose a Frozen theme.  And once we had decided on Frozen, I knew I wanted to try my hand at an Elsa cake. This shop and my Disney Frozen potty chart have been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #PUBigKid #CollectiveBias

Bubbles has been “in the process” of potty training for awhile now.  We’ve had a lot of success in certain areas; she’s been nighttime potty trained for probably a year and always goes potty first thing in the morning.  It’s the rest of the day where we have had a few challenges.

Potty Training with Elsa & Anna + a free printable Disney Frozen potty chart! #PUBigKid

The main challenge being that Bubbles doesn’t like to miss out on anything.  If we leave the room to go potty, we might miss the family of rabbits in the backyard or her favorite song might come on.  Or worse still in her mind, she’d have to miss a few minutes of playtime.  None of that is worth taking two minutes for a potty break. I received a Kohl’s gift card in order to check out Disney Frozen toys and gifts. All words and opinions are my own.

It’s no secret that Frozen is a huge hit in our house.  In fact, it’s a huge hit in almost every house.  More than a year after the theatrical release of Disney Frozen it’s still a phenomena that shows no signs of slowing.

Since Disney Frozen released last year and Bubble and I went to see it in the theaters, it’s been a pretty foregone conclusion that she would want to be Elsa for Halloween this year.  What I didn’t realize, though, was that she would also want to dress up like Elsa every. single. day.  While singing “Let It Go” and doing the, as I call it, “Elsa flip” with her hair.

Disney Frozen DIY Elsa Cape - No Sewing Machine!

Finding Elsa costume pieces was nearly impossible for awhile.  I truly don’t think even Disney anticipated just what a magical hit Frozen was going to be, and demand vastly overwhelmed supply.  So we made due with Bubbles using the little blue shawl and hat Aunt Sherri sent us to wear last winter, and Bubbles used one of her blankets as a cape.
