I have received this product from MGA as part of their toy tester program. All thoughts and words are my own.

Let me state the obvious for just a moment: kids grow really fast.  I was swapping out the summer shoes for our fall and winter ones today and I noticed how much bigger Bubbles’ shoes are this year versus the size they were last year at this time.  She’s growing so fast!

Little Tikes Trike: 4-in-1 Sports Edition

It always makes me a little sad when I change out the seasons or upgrade the size of our kid gear.  Not just because it marks the passage of time – though that does make me sniffle some – but because most of what we clean out still has a lot of life left to it. Continue reading »

I received Luvs Super Absorbent product and compensation via Luvs through SheSpeaks in order to facilitate my review.  All words and opinions are 100% my own.

Once people find out you’re going to have a baby, you receive a lot of advice and “been there, done that” commentary.  One thing I heard a lot about was diapers.  Everyone talked about the sheer volume of them that you’d be purchasing over the next few years, and everyone had a suggestion on which brand they felt was “the best diaper”.

The comment on how many diapers you’ll use was spot-on.  But as for brands, I received so many suggestions on which was “best”, I ended up just going with the brand I received for my baby shower.  We’ve stuck with it most of the time that Bubbles has been in diapers.  Here and there we’ve veered off to try another brand, and some of them would work for awhile, but we’ve always found our way back to our initial brand – until recently.

Bubbles wakes up dry every morning, and has for awhile now (a good sign, I think, that we’re ready to work a little more on full-blown potty training).  But if she gets involved in playing before I can talk her into a potty break, then her first wet diaper of the morning almost always involves a change of clothes.

Photography Tips From Erin Manning

Just before Bubbles was born my husband and I went to select and purchase a new point-and-shoot digital camera.  With a new little one on the way we knew there would be hundreds of memories, poses, and expressions we would want to capture in the first months of her life.  Having a new camera gave us slightly better quality prints over what we could take with our phones but it didn’t make us great photographers.

Photography Tips for Babies

I think most of the pictures we took back then were pretty cute (see above) but in the course of two years we’ve definitely learned a lot.  Some was through trial and error, some was thanks to Pinterest (there are lots of suggestions for taking photos of your baby on there).  Much of it was just through lots (lots) of practice. Have a little one or know someone that does?  Then you’ll love this Bloggers Giving Back Baby Bash hosted by Makobi Scribe and MomVantage.  The inspiration for this hop was a little different than most; all the participating bloggers are encouraged to give back to their community in some way.  While shopping for a friend’s upcoming baby shower the other day, I picked up a few extras (pacis, bottles, etc.) and will be making a donation later this week.

2011 Holiday Gift Guide – Suggestions For Babies/Toddlers

There’s a cute concept in the world of pajamas and it comes courtesy of a company called Little Toader.  They have designed Storybook PJs, a themed set that includes a book and a pair of PJs.

Little Toader is owned run by husband and wife team Lori and Michael and is located in Florida.  With three children of their own (and one on the way) they often found themselves saying “they should make…”  And so they decided to do just that.  They’ve created a line of safe, unique and fun items for babies and kids.

I had the pleasure of meeting the Little Toader folks at the ABC Kids Expo this year and they were such a sweet couple.  You can tell they have passion around their products and their work and it was infectious.  They also produce the Appeteether which will make your little one giggle.

The Storybook PJs come with a book – Adventures in Dreams – that is meant to be read while the pajamas are worn.  The images used in the book correspond to the images printed on the PJs.  So as you read the book they can search for the images on their jammies to make it more interactive.

The PJs are unisex and are 100% cotton with a snug-fit design for safety.  They’re really cute and the water color effect gives them kind of a soft, brushed look.  I would encourage you to order the next size up, though.  We have the 6-12 month size and Baby C. fell in the weight and height range indicated on the size chart, but they were a little small for her.

One reader will win a set of Storybook PJs in size 12-18 months or 18 months.  Giveaway closed.

I received a product in order to facilitate my review.  No other compensation was received and all opinions are 100% mine and my family’s.
