It’s finally starting to feel like summer is coming with plans to stay. This means more opportunities to be outside enjoying the beautiful weather! These easy tips will have your skin and nails summer ready in no time.

How to Get Summer Ready Skin and Nails

Exfoliate

Consider exfoliating a primer for your canvas. You want to gently buff off all the old, tired skin from the winter and let the new, youthful skin shine through. Your body can stand up to a fairly good scrubbing with an exfoliating cleanser and brush or scrubbing mitts. For your face, choose something more gentle and use your hands or a silicone exfoliater specifically for that purpose. Continue reading »

This post on laundry tips has been sponsored by Global Influence. All words and opinions are my own.

When I was in middle school it always seemed like the one thing I wanted to wear was in the wash.  Being a hormonal preteen, I couldn’t understand what the big deal was about just doing the laundry already.  That is, until I was married and had a houseful of laundry of my own to stay on top of.

Laundry Tips and Time Savers

There are days I feel like some of that laundry could march itself into the washing machine unassisted.  My husband’s outdoors-work clothes, Bubbles’ did-you-eat-the-mac-and-cheese-or-bath-in-it clothes, even Austin’s workout clothes (if you thought teenage boys’ clothes smell bad, try them after two hours of lifting weights at the gym).  They also carry their own particular funk and cleaning challenge. I have been shopping with Amazon for many years now.  The merchandise selection is vast, the prices are good, and by being a Prime member, the shipping is fast and easy.  But now Amazon has made it even easier to shop.

3 Easy Steps to Using #AmazonCart #cbias

I’m sure you’re curious how it’s even possible to be easier to shop on Amazon.  Search for the item, click, and check out.  But through a recent partnership with Twitter, Amazon has managed to save you two of those steps. Continue reading »

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Brummel & Brown.

When I was elementary school-aged and younger, I spent many summer and weekend nights sleeping over at my grandparents’ house. There was just so much to do down there, from fishing to picking berries to baking with my Gram. And as my brothers and cousins were born, they added to the mix, until our sleepovers counted six grandkids all spread out over the floor.

In the mornings, Gram always cooked us breakfast, though breakfast seems like an insignificant word for what she cooked. Everyone had their favorites, and everything was cooked to order: eggs were fried, scrambled, made into omelets, or in my case fried but egg white-only. And of course, there was the homemade toast with real butter.

These days, though, I think a little more about the calories than I did when I was a kid.  And so while I still love the taste of real butter, I’m usually reaching for something else to spread on my toast.  After seeing it while shopping at Target, what I have been reaching for lately is Brummel & Brown spread. A few years ago my husband and I had the pleasure of dining at Boma restaurant at the Animal Kingdom Lodge.  I had heard and read rave reviews of the place for a long time, so we made plans to eat there during one of our overnight trips.

I knew that it would be a bit of a culinary adventure for us; Boma features many African-inspired recipes, not a cuisine either of us had a lot of experience with.  But we were both pleasantly surprised at how many dishes we ended up enjoying.  Especially the chicken and soups.

Recently I caught one of the first commercials for the upcoming movie Blended.  It’s the story of two families coming together during separate trips to an African family resort, a story I can somewhat relate to.  While the vacations we’ve bonded over haven’t been African, I did have the pleasure of marrying into a beautiful family that included Ashley and Austin, and then rounding out our family with Bubbles.
