This DIY Halloween Candy Dish post is sponsored by the Sverve #smokehousebbq campaign. All thoughts and words are my own.

Over the weekend I dug out my Halloween decorations and started to transform our house.  I actually couldn’t believe we’re already only three weeks away from Halloween!  I feel a little behind the ball on getting everything all set up.

DIY Halloween Candy Dish - Made from a terracotta pot! Easy craft for under $5 #SmokehouseBBQ

As I started to lay things out – the table runner, silly spider, ghost in a jar, pumpkins, you name it – I realized I was a little short on candy dishes.  Then I remembered the candy dish that I had made when I was younger as a gift for my Gram.  It was an easy project using terracotta pots, which I knew I had in my craft closet. This post on saving on my vegetable soup recipe with the Walmart Savings Catcher is sponsored by Crowdtap. All thoughts and words are my own. #WMTSavingsCatcher

We’ve had a pretty serious cold snap here the last few days, and it’s been frequently accompanied by rain.  It’s the kind of weather that makes you want to curl up on the couch with a blanket and a bowl of something hot.  Something like vegetable soup.

Vegetable Soup Recipe #WMTSavingsCatcher

My husband is a fan of soups in general and requests them frequently.  The other day as I was heading out the door to pick up groceries, my husband suggested that I also get the things I’d need to make vegetable soup.  I took a mental inventory of what we already had in the pantry and fridge, then added the rest of the ingredients to the shopping app on my phone. This DIY MistleToes gift post is brought to you by DataRank and Burt’s Bees. All words, projects, and opinions are my own.

I’m getting a little bit giddy.  Christmas, which is my absolute favorite time of year, is getting closer by the day.  In fact, there are only a little over 73 days until the big day arrives.

Now that Bubbles is older, I feel confident in taking her to see movies at the theater.  She loves the experience of the big chairs and the big screen, and even if she doesn’t always catch every joke or nuance, she likes laughing along with everyone else.  And if she also gets to order some popcorn, she’s in seventh heaven.

The Cooper Family Surviving Another Day inin Alexander and the Terrible Horrible, No Good, #VeryBadDay

When I received the invite for us to attend a screening this past week for Alexander and the Terrible Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day I suspected that it would be a good choice for the whole family.  It is, after all, based on the children’s book of the same title.  Alexander and the Terrible Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day was a book I remember enjoying as a kid, and so I was interested to see how it would translate to the big screen. I was adopted by my parents when I was only a few weeks old.  I was born towards the end of March, and by the middle of April, I was home with them.

My Adoption Photo #Frosty4Adoption

My parents, me as a baby, and the judge that finalized my adoption.

My parents never tried to hide the situation from me.  I know it can be a tricky thing to explain to kids, but I remember being aware from a very young age of how I came to be part of my family.  And while I am technically adopted, I’ve never thought of myself as anything other than my parents’ child.
