Since Disney Frozen released last year and Bubble and I went to see it in the theaters, it’s been a pretty foregone conclusion that she would want to be Elsa for Halloween this year.  What I didn’t realize, though, was that she would also want to dress up like Elsa every. single. day.  While singing “Let It Go” and doing the, as I call it, “Elsa flip” with her hair.

Disney Frozen DIY Elsa Cape - No Sewing Machine!

Finding Elsa costume pieces was nearly impossible for awhile.  I truly don’t think even Disney anticipated just what a magical hit Frozen was going to be, and demand vastly overwhelmed supply.  So we made due with Bubbles using the little blue shawl and hat Aunt Sherri sent us to wear last winter, and Bubbles used one of her blankets as a cape. I created this free boating printable subway art in an Ambassador Program on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Discover Boating. I received a promotional item to thank me for my participation.

As a Discover Boating Ambassador for the summer, last month I shared with you all some tips for renting and how to choose a boat for your outing or vacation.  I hope they were of some help to anyone looking to get out on the water this summer!

Sunset on the Lake

We haven’t yet had the chance to go out ourselves; the summer simply has been more busy that we had expected.  Between graduations and work and helping Ashley shop for and get settled into her new apartment and job, there hasn’t been a lot of extra time. Continue reading »

This DIY movie lovers gift basket post is sponsored by Pop Secret. All thoughts and words are my own.

I haven’t met too many people – any people? – that have said “I don’t really like movies”. The type of movie they enjoy may vary greatly from person to person, but everyone seems to enjoy them. Which is why a movie lovers gift basket is one of my go-to gift giving ideas.

DIY Movie Lovers Gift Basket for Under $10

These gift baskets are easy to put together, and with a little planning ahead, are really inexpensive. For example, I recently picked up a big popcorn bowl at Walmart in their summer clearance for $1. A set of four matching smaller bowls was also just $1. And you could always hit up one of the dollar stores, too. Continue reading »

This review and DIY Oatmeal Face Mask Recipe was made possible by Double Duty Divas and Dawn. I was provided the featured product free of charge to facilitate my review, but all opinions are 100% mine.

Spa days might be one of my favorite luxuries in life. I love leaving feeling refreshed and pampered, with a massage, my nails done, and some kind of skin treatment. The only problem, is that those moments can really add up, cost-wise.

I am a member of the Collective Bias® Social Fabric® Community. This #NewFavorites DIY spa day shop has been compensated as part of a social shopper amplification for #CollectiveBias and its advertiser.

I was an RA (Resident Advisor) for three years during college.  One of my absolute favorite things to do was host DIY spa days (well, nights) for the girls on my floor.  I would order pizza, and then break out the nail polish, facial masks, foot soak, files, anything we needed for a night of pampering.

Tips for a DIY Spa Day #NewFavorites #shop

To this day, a mani-pedi is one of my absolute favorite ways to relax.  Making time for (and justifying the expense of) visiting a local just to get my nails painted isn’t something I do that often these days, but it doesn’t mean I want to give up the luxury of pretty nails.  So I’ve continued my tradition of DIY spa days in my own home.
