At the start of 2013 I shared with you my favorite Disney movies of 2012. There were so many great new additions this past year that I wanted to share a 2013 Disney movies roundup with you. All of these movies – listed in chronological order – are can’t-miss and if you didn’t catch them at the theater or pick up DVD copies yet, you should plan to for this year.
Disney’s Saving Mr. Banks is in theaters right now, and DreamWorks Pictures’ Need for Speed releases in the spring. Here is a look at both of them, plus a free Saving Mr. Banks iBook for you to download!
Saving Mr. Banks is one movie I have been seriously counting the days for since I originally learned of it’s creation. Now that Ashley is home from college she has offered to babysit for us so hubby and I can go after Christmas. I love the above photo for a lot of reasons, one of which is that I recently had the chance to stand in front of that same Mickey face at Disneyland when visiting the Treasures of Asgard exhibit. The Hive: A Very Buzzbee Christmas is available on DVD. Great for the holiday season, the DVD includes 10 episodes from the Disney Junior television series. “Babee’s First Christmas” is an especially great episode to watch if you happen to have an older sibling processing a younger sibling’s first Christmas. So, I haven’t posted one of these in awhile because, well, it’s been a little hectic. But I have a number of great movies, television shows, holiday specials, music, and more that are coming up, releasing, or available now that I want to make sure you don’t miss. Be sure to pin your favorites below and add them to your calendars!
Tickety Toc, airing on Nick Jr., will present it’s new 30-minute special “Christmas Present Time” on Saturday, December 14th. It will re-air on Tuesday, December 24th, and Wednesday, December 25th. Tickety Toc covers the antics of 6-year-old twins Tommy and Tallulah.
As Christmas Eve falls upon Tickety Town and all the townsfolk are busy putting their final preparations together for a Tickety Christmas, a sudden crash landing by Santa throws everything into turmoil. The reindeers have caught a chill, Santa’s sleigh is broken and all the presents are spread across Tickety Town. It’s up to Tommy and Tallulah to work together “quickity tickety” and come up with a plan to save Christmas before it’s too late! The festive, fun-filled special also features a Christmas song that will have the whole family singing along.
My family was invited to a screening in order for me to write my Disney Frozen review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
From the moment I saw the first previews, I knew that Disney’s Frozen was going to be a big hit. And after having had the opportunity to see it with my family a couple of weeks ago, I’m calling that it will soon become a classic. The animation, the songs, the story – it all adds up to amazing.
This was the second movie we had taken Bubbles to see at the theater but this was the first one she was able to stay and watch until the end. Even after sitting in the theater for about thirty minutes prior to the movie starting, she happily sat in her seat for the whole thing, turning away from the screen only occasionally to share a laugh with me. I don’t know how I had forgotten that it was going to be in 3D, but she opted not to wear her glasses and still enjoyed it.
At it’s center, Disney’s Frozen is about the relationship between sisters. Princesses and sisters Anna and Elsa have always been so close, playing and having fun in their family’s castle. Elsa has a special gift, the ability to create things from snow and ice. Often the sisters would sneak downstairs while their parents slept and skate, slid, and play with the snowman named Olaf that Elsa brought to life for them. Continue reading »
