It’s always around this time of year that I start to get the itch to go somewhere.  Whether it’s up north to connect with family for the holidays, out west to take in some beautiful scenery, or back south to soak up some rays and reminisce, I just get the travel bug.

Snow for Christmas is nice, snow before Thanksgiving is just messy

That photo was taken exactly one year ago yesterday.  Now, I’m a huge fan of a white Christmas but a white Thanksgiving is not something I need.  With as hard as it’s currently raining and as cold as it’s been getting at night, all I can think is with just a small drop in temperature we’d be getting a massive snow storm today, too. This shop and my Ultimate Kids Thanksgiving table ideas have been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone, but the fun can be yours, too! #BIGDeal #CollectiveBias

I think growing up, it’s pretty much a universal thing that kids can’t wait to graduate from the kids table to the adults table.  It’s sort of a rite of passage.  And I was definitely excited to make the move, myself, though I will be honest and say I’ll always be a little nostalgic for the seat I left behind.

How to create the Ultimate Kids Thanksgiving Table! A fun tablecloth they can color on, lots of crayons, some cute decor, and fun activities will keep them entertained throughout your whole Thanksgiving dinner.

The kids Thanksgiving table was always the place for fun.  While the grownups were using the plates I was always scared to break, at the kids table we had paper or plastic everything.  The grownups had the fancy pearl onions and creamed this or that, while the kids table had the Jell-O and chocolate pudding.  Who wouldn’t want to be at the kids Thanksgiving table? Enjoying pasta is something that has long been a tradition in my family.  My brother even requested that my Mom make her spaghetti for the rehearsal dinner for his wedding and my Gram made her own homemade pasta on more than a few occasions.

This easy pasta bake recipe is perfect for night's when you're short on time, as everything you need is likely already in your pantry!

My own family really loves pasta, too.  A recipe for lasagna roll ups was one of the first meals I remember making for my husband when we first started dating.  And Bubbles, possibly because mac & cheese was all I craved during my pregnancy, is also a big fan of almost anything made with noodles. I’ve always appreciated companies that support our military. My grandfather was a WWII vet and many family members are retired or current military. And when Austin decided to join the Army National Guard and become a paratrooper, my respect for groups that give back rose even more.

So I was really excited when Baskin-Robbins reached out and offered to partner on a post to share the news about their Veteran’s Day plans.  They have a few fun things planned for November 11th and I’m looking forward to stopping into our local Baskin-Robbins ice cream shop on Wednesday to participate. I’ve been a “gamer girl” for a long time.  Console games, PC games, online games – even board and card games. I just love to play.

The new Trove game is a free online MMO that gives you lots of adventure, crafting and more!

Hubs is a gamer, too, though neither of us really have as much time to play these days as we did before Bubbles was born.  But when new games that sound interesting or when additional titles to our favorite franchises are released, we definitely make a point to check them out. Continue reading »
