It’s definitely a kids entertainment kind of week. Here are some of the highlights.

Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day
I am so, so excited to announce that a live-action version of the classic book “Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day” will hit theaters, courtesy of Disney, on October 10, 2014. I adore this book and am super-excited that it’s going to be on the big screen. Steve Carrel and Jennifer Garner will both star, and I think they will be absolutely perfect.
Disney’s “Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day” follows the exploits of 11-year-old Alexander as he experiences the most terrible and horrible day of his young life—a day that begins with gum stuck in his hair, followed by one calamity after another. But when Alexander tells his upbeat family about the misadventures of his disastrous day, he finds little sympathy and begins to wonder if bad things only happen to him. He soon learns that he’s not alone when his brother, sister, mom and dad all find themselves living through their own terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day. Anyone who says there is no such thing as a bad day just hasn’t had one.
My Little Pony: Equestria Girls
When a crown is stolen from the Crystal Empire, Twilight Sparkle pursues the thief into an alternate world where she transforms into a teenage girl who must survive her biggest challenge yet…high school. With help from her new friends who remind her of Ponyville’s Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy, she embarks upon a quest to find the crown and change the destiny of these two parallel worlds.
