Thank you to Gooseberry Patch for providing us with a copy of the new 101 Stovetop Suppers cookbook which inspired this spaghetti with homemade meatballs recipe.

I’ve mentioned before that spaghetti is one meal that we have fairly regularly.  It’s hard to get tired of noodles covered in delicious sauce, sprinkled with Parmesan cheese, and paired with some garlic bread.  I’m not sure if spaghetti is considered a comfort food, but if it’s not, it absolutely should be.

I do usually brown some ground beef or turkey to add to the sauce, and occasionally I’ve even picked up a bag of frozen meatballs to warm up in the sauce.  But for some reason, I don’t recall ever making homemade meatballs specifically for spaghetti.  I’ve made them plenty of times as part of my Mom’s German Meatballs recipe, but that’s it.

Thank you to Hamilton Beach for providing a Breakfast Sandwich Maker to make our back-to-school mornings run more smoothly. All thoughts and words are my own.

It can take a few days to settle into a new schedule once school goes back in session.  You may be tempted to skip breakfast for yourself, or the kids may say “oh, I’ll grab something at school” (who knows if they will) as they run out the door.  But as breakfast has been shown to help concentration during the school day, it’s important to resist the urge to add a few minutes to your day by ignoring breakfast.

For our family we keep our mornings on track with breakfast sandwiches.  In the past I purchased the frozen kind; lite for me, regular for everyone else.  While convenient they’re not exactly inexpensive plus you’re limited to just a few flavor combinations.  Then the folks at Hamilton Beach sent us their new Breakfast Sandwich Maker and our mornings got a lot more tasty.

I’m completely in love with this little machine.  Especially with it’s versatility.  It’s kind of like having a short-order cook that can provide you with a plethora of breakfast sandwich creations, satisfying whatever morning cravings you and your family have.  I also like how easy to clean and easy to use it is. This is a sponsored conversation about cream filled cupcakes is written by me on behalf of International Delight. The opinions and text are all mine.

One of summer’s greatest pleasures is ice cream.  It’s cool, creamy, refreshing, and – most importantly – delicious.  And now International Delight is helping you take your love for ice cream someplace unexpected – your coffee cup.

The International Delight Cold Stone Creamery line of coffee creamers is now available in three new flavors: Hot for Cookie, Founder’s Favorite, and Churro Caramel.  When I saw them at the store I had a hard time deciding which one to try first, but the swirl of whipped cream topping those cookies looked so good that I had Hot for Cookie had to be my first selection.

After getting it home and trying it in my morning coffee (delish!) I started to think about other ways to enjoy that yummy, melty ice cream flavor..  And then I thought – what goes better with ice cream than just about anything else?  Cake, of course.  And the whipped cream from the bottle gave me an idea.  I love to make cupcakes with a little surprise in the middle, and wouldn’t the surprise of an ice cream cookie sundae when you took a bite be a great one?

There are lots of yummy treats during the Christmas holidays.  Cakes, cookies, brownies, cheesecakes and more.  I love to make a wide variety of them, but they can take a little time to bake and assemble.  So what can you make when you have guests on the way or when your kids remind you that they need to take a treat to class in an hour?

Try making these yummy marshmallows.  With colored candy coatings and festive sprinkles, they look like the gourmet marshmallows you buy from confectionery stores but are low-cost, quick and easy to do.

I don’t recall us eating much meatloaf when I was a kid.  I’m sure we did because it’s, you know, meatloaf.  An absolutely classic comfort food.  It’s a dish that when combined with mashed potatoes and gravy is called the “all-American meal” – despite the fact that a version was found in a Roman cookbook in the 5th century!

Meatloaf isn’t something I make regularly.  In fact, I can only recall a couple of times previously that I’ve cooked it.  It’s one of those dishes that have a lot of variables: will it stay together, will it be tough, will it be dry, etc.  But hubby loves meatloaf so when I saw this recipe for Mom’s Meatloaf in the new Garfield… Recipes with Cattitude! cookbook from Gooseberry Patch I knew I wanted to give it a try.
