There were lots of movies growing up that showed the future and imagined the technology that would, someday, become available. One of the most fascinating to me as a kid was the concept of virtual reality. And now not only do we have VR technology, we have mobile virtual reality.
Monday night our family was invited to a screening of Disney’s Finding Dory. Bubbles hasn’t been too interested in going to the theater lately, but when I told her we had Finding Dory tickets she was really excited. We love Finding Nemo and she wanted to see the characters on the big screen.
The movie did not disappoint at all. Bubbles came out of the theater talking nonstop about her favorite parts and how much fun she had and when could we see it again. Continue reading »
Naked cakes – cakes without the traditional outer layer of frosting – is a hot new trend. And with warm weather here, it’s the perfect time to show off a stellar new summer naked cake. My friends from Kraft partnered with me to share some great naked cake ideas with the post they sent below.
Nearly everything my Gram cooked was homestyle and from scratch. I know that a big part of that was growing up in a time where convenience foods weren’t readily available, but I also think she just enjoyed making her family something special.
My Mom did a lot of from-scratch cooking, too, but she also used a few shortcuts and cooking hacks on occasion. They let her speed the cooking process up on busy nights, without sacrificing the taste or flavor of the food. Continue reading »

Parenthood is one of my favorite series that has been on TV in the last few years. There’s so much right with that show, and very little (any?) that’s wrong with it.
