Mother’s Day is right around the corner, and for someone I know, it’s a very special one. I’m so excited to share that my sister-in-law and my brother are pregnant with their first child! So this Mother’s Day will be her very first one.
Next month I’ll have a whole lot of baby fun, but to kick off this special time in their lives I wanted to put together a Mother to Be gift basket for Mother’s Day for her. I’ve filled it with some things I think she’ll need throughout her pregnancy, as well as a few cute gifts I found that I thought she’d appreciate.
I was in Walmart picking up a few things and I noticed they were already stocked to make them the one-stop shop for the Best Mother’s Day Ever. And American Greetings even had the exact card I needed: a Happy Mom to Be Day card! I also found other great Mother’s Day cards and picked up one for my own Mom, as well as a Grandmother one for Bubbles to send her.
Around the corner there was also a display of Mother’s Day gifts. One little sign really caught my eye: “Family Where Life Begins Love Never Ends”. I thought that until the baby is born, Abby might like to put it on her desk at school, and then maybe in the nursery once it’s all decorated.
After reading all the other signs, frames, cups and notepads to Bubbles, she picked out a gift, too. “I love you to the moon and back” is something I often say to Bubbles, especially before bed, and she thought the hanging sign with the same phrase would be nice to share. Then we chose a travel cup for her to take to work.
I wanted to add a few personal touches to my Mommy to Be gift basket, too, so I added a sleeve of crackers (for that lovely pregnancy nausea), a bottle of ginger ale, and some heartburn relief tablets. I remember having the worst heartburn while I was pregnant and was oh-so-thankful for those little chewables.
After pouring the tablets over into a cute little jar I found (which I may have also bought myself a few), I made a little pregnancy humor free printable. It says “The list of foods that won’t give you heartburn while pregnant” at the top – and then it’s blank on the bottom. Because almost everything gave me heartburn at that time.
There were lots of gift bags, ribbons and bows to make your gifts look extra-special, too. Since Abby and Sam won’t know for another couple of weeks if it’s a boy or a girl, I just picked a bag that I thought was pretty.
I have a friend who had a baby this year and I would love to give her a gift basket for her first Mother’s Day. I think I’ll check out this one-stop shop and see what I can find for her. #client
I would give it to a pregnant family member.
This is such a cute idea! I have a lot of pregnant friends and family members who would love this! I’d like to invite you to my link party on Saturdays and would love if you would come share with me!
Hope to see you there.
