Quaker has asked me to share about their #QuakerPlayMaker partnership with the NFL and Fuel Up to Play 60 and has provided prizes for a giveaway. All words and thoughts are my own.
Growing up I played outside a lot. My parents’ house sits on a decent amount of land, so there was plenty of space to ride bikes, play softball, and walk the dog. My brothers even used one lawn to make their own golf “course” and driving range.
Fortunately Bubbles doesn’t need to be convinced to enjoy playing outside. She loves to run around, ride her trike, and play on her swing set, to name a few. Honestly, if there were a few less “icky bugs” out there, I don’t know that she’d ever come inside.
It’s important to us as parents that we join her for some of her play time. We want to be good role models and show that young or old(er), physical activity combined with good nutrition is essential to a healthy lifestyle. Whether it’s engaging her in a game of tag or participating in one of her own made-up games, we find ways to be active together.
To encourage more families to get and stay active, this fall Quaker is teaming up with the NFL and Fuel Up to Play 60. Together they are launching For the Love of Play, a campaign that asks families to get active for 60 minutes of play each day.
Part of this campaign is the Make the Play contest where you can share the unique way that your family plays for the chance to win a grand prize “Day of Play” in your hometown with Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck! There are also daily prizes of $50 NFLShop.com online gift cards.
Additionally, I have a prize pack full of goodies to giveaway perfect for active families. Included are:
- An LED Light-Up Frisbee perfect for playtime outdoors with the whole family
- A Mini Football for kids to enjoy team games
- A Stopwatch to time fun activities and ensure your family gets 60 minutes of play per day
- A set of Mini-Desk Cones for families to create their own games or relay races
- A handy sports bag to stay organized while keeping active
Congrats Shelley P!
