This week’s movie news is pretty much a Disney-lover’s dream. Iron Man 3 Blu-ray Combo Packs have a street date, and we’re closing in on the 20th anniversary of one of my favorite movies, The Nightmare Before Christmas. Check out all the deets below.
Monsters University
In case you missed it, Monsters University opened last week and topped the box office. MU took in $82 million during it’s opening weekend and it’s no doubt – it’s a scarily good movie! If you haven’t seen it yet this weekend would be a good time to do so. And if you have a Monsters University fan on your hands there are lots of fun MU toys and books available right now (those fraternity and sorority bean bag plushes are awfully cute).
Iron Man 3
So I’m pretty excited that they announced today that Iron Man 3 will launch on HD Digital and HD Digital 3D on September 3rd, 2013. This will be followed by the September 24th, 2013 release of the 3D Super Set, Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD, Digital Copy, and On Demand option. We already own Iron Man 1 & 2, so adding the third chapter of this awesome franchise to our collection is a no-brainer for us.
The Nightmare Before Christmas
I’m also pretty excited about the 20th Anniversary Edition of The Nightmare Before Christmas. This has been one of my favorite movies since it first released (as I type that I just thought to myself, “Wow, that makes me feel old.”). Now I can own the three-disc Blu-ray Combo Pack (Blu-ray 3D + Blu-ray + DVD + Digital Copy) – or the two-disc Blu-ray Combo Pack or DVD. Tim Burton rarely has a miss, and the songs in this movie are infectious. It’s available on September 10th, 2013.
Bored with the same old scare-and-scream routine, Pumpkin King Jack Skellington longs to spread the joy of Christmas. But his merry mission puts Santa in jeopardy and creates a nightmare for good little boys and girls everywhere!
Planes
Have you seen the cute new posters from the Disney Planes movie? This Need for Speed one reminds me of Top Gun, which is a classic.
“Disney’s Planes” is an action-packed 3D animated comedy adventure featuring Dusty (voice of Dane Cook), a plane with dreams of competing as a high-flying air racer. But Dusty’s not exactly built for racing—and he happens to be afraid of heights. So he turns to a seasoned naval aviator who helps Dusty qualify to take on the defending champ of the race circuit. Dusty’s courage is put to the ultimate test as he aims to reach heights he never dreamed possible, giving a spellbound world the inspiration to soar. “Disney’s Planes” takes off in theaters on Aug. 9, 2013.
We saw Monsters University and loved it! I can’t wait to see Planes!
Glad you liked it, Kristy! We’re anxiously awaiting Planes here, too
