Many of us made fitness goals for the year. As January rolls to a frigid end, it’s a good time to do a quick check-in on how those resolutions are coming. While it’s only been a little over three weeks, evaluating your plans now gives you the chance to make the changes necessary to get back on track if you’ve slipped a little.

This cold weather hasn’t really helped. Who wants to – or even can – get outside when the thermometer reads below zero? Fortunately Bubbles keeps my heart rate up with all the dancing and jumping around she likes us to do together.

While it’s not really designed to track all that dancing, it does at least track my steps so I have an idea of if I’m moving enough, or not. I have always loved wandering around inside of Best Buy, especially around the holidays. Nearly everything technology- and appliance-related can be found under one roof. And when you visit one of their 1,400+ locations you get to actually play with the items and get hands-on experience before making a purchase.

Blue Shirts and Geek Squad Agents are highly trained, knowledgeable and impartial so they can help ensure you get the perfect gifts for your family and friends – and yourself! When I was growing up if you would have told me that some day I would not have a landline phone, I wouldn’t have believed you. Even though I was an extremely early-adopter of cell phone technology – I’ve had a cellphone for nearly 20 years – I never thought they would replace landlines. And yet as cellular service has improved in quality and portability, I and many others have switched to using them exclusively.

For awhile now I’ve used a pedometer to track the steps I take during the day. It’s definitely a good way to encourage yourself to take the stairs when possible, or to circle the block a second time during your afternoon walk. They’re a little clunky, though, and depending on where you clip it, I had a tendency to knock it off when I’d walk.

When I saw the new Misfit Shine activity monitor, however, I knew I’d found better than the perfect replacement for my old-school pedometer. First of all, it’s incredibly sleek and stylish. It’s made of aircraft-grade aluminum and comes in grey, black, topaz, and champagne.
