This Suave holiday scents is a sponsored post on behalf of Global Influence.  All words and opinions are my own.

The holidays are all about scents.  The pine scent of a freshly-cut wreath or Christmas tree, pumpkin pie cooling on the counter, even the smoky smell of a fire burning in the fireplace on a cold winter night.  Of course, around here that fire smell is usually paired with hot chocolate, so you get an extra yummy holiday scent.

The list really could go on: sugar cookies, apple cider, gingerbread, egg nog.  I’m starting to make myself both hungry and anxious for the holidays to get here just by thinking about these scents.  I love the fact that such strong memories can be evoked simply by recalling what something smells like. This post is part of a Fashionista Event. I was provided a promotional item by Coupons.com to inform you of their Black Friday Sales, their Top 10 Gifts Giveaway and our $500 giveaway.

I honestly cannot believe that Thanksgiving is next week.  It feels like yesterday was September!  And following on the heels of Thanksgiving is Christmas.

I started asking the kiddos to make their wishlists (I don’t care how old you are, you’re never too old for a wishlist) for me a couple of weeks ago.  They’ve been slow to fill them up, and I’ve been nudging them with the lighthearted threats of empty boxes under the tree unless they start handing them over.  To be honest, I’m getting a tiny bit nervous because by this time each year, I’m mostly finishing up lists, not starting them.

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Green Mountain Coffee.  The opinions and text are all mine.

The first thing I would like to reach for in the mornings is coffee.  I’m bleary-eyed and a little fuzzy-brained when I wake up, and my brain calls for coffee.  The only problem is that I generally get up a couple of hours before Bubbles does, and as she’s a very light sleeper, I’m afraid to run the coffee machine until she wakes.

There is a new alternative, though, that I recently tried that makes me quite happy.  Green Mountain, one of my favorite coffee brands, now offers Espresso Roast Iced Latte.  A refrigerated beverage, there’s no brewing involved so I don’t run the risk of waking anyone up in order to pour myself a glass.

I received Michael Angelo’s products in order to facilitate my review. All words and opinions are my own.

Italian food has always been one of my favorite cuisines.  Growing up, my Mom would frequently make spaghetti and meatballs for dinner, complete with her own homemade pasta sauce.  The sauce is so good that my brother and his now-wife actually requested it as their rehearsal dinner meal.

My Gram also made Italian meals special, as she often made her own fresh pasta.  I remember seeing those little strips of goodness hanging on the machine, ready to be tossed into the boiling water.  You’d think my family is Italian, but we’re not; we just enjoy good food.

I often make Italian meals for my own family.  Lasagna and spaghetti with my own homemade spaghetti sauce recipe are two of the most frequent, but I’m made Chicken Piccata, antipasto salad, Chicken Parmesan, and other dishes, too.

This post is part of a sponsored campaign with Those Media Girls and Chores Market.  All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I’m fortunate that my husband is very handy.  If something is leaking, loose, broken, or making funny sounds, he can usually fix it.  And if the roof needs redoing, a wall needs repainting, or you need a backhoe driven, he can do that, too.

The one thing he doesn’t really like to do, however, is electrical work.  So the walk-in closet in our house that has no interior light (seriously, who builds a walk-in with no light?) still is shrouded in darkness after the sun goes down.  And the new garage door opener that we’d like to have installed still hasn’t been.
