While I generally cheer for the good guy, I have to say I love a good villain (which may explain why I consider myself one of Loki’s Ladies).  And now Maleficent, Princess Aurora’s nemesis in Disney’s Sleeping Beauty, is getting her own movie, and I’m thoroughly intrigued.

Angelina Jolie as Iconic Disney Villain Maleficent #Maleficent

Updates for Maleficent have come slowly, but each time one is shared, it’s absolutely amazing.  Like the recent release of the new movie poster which shows off the classic Disney villain Maleficent (played by Angelina Jolie) and her awe-inspiring wings. There are also two new trailers available; you can check both of them out below.

“Maleficent” explores the untold story of Disney’s most iconic villain from the classic “Sleeping Beauty” and the elements of her betrayal that ultimately turn her pure heart to stone. Driven by revenge and a fierce desire to protect the moors over which she presides, Maleficent cruelly places an irrevocable curse upon the human king’s newborn infant Aurora. As the child grows, Aurora is caught in the middle of the seething conflict between the forest kingdom she has grown to love and the human kingdom that holds her legacy. Maleficent realizes that Aurora may hold the key to peace in the land and is forced to take drastic actions that will change both worlds forever.

Be sure to follow Maleficent on Twitter – you never know what she’ll have to say!

Which Disney villain is your favorite?
