I am participating in a blog post campaign for One2One Network and Walt Disney Records.  All thoughts and words are my own.

One of my favorite parts of walking through the Disney parks or watching a Disney movie is the amazing music that accompanies them.  Many consider Disney Music a genre of it’s own and is probably the most recognized and beloved song catalog in the world.  I know that any time I hear the songs, I can’t help but sing – and in some cases dance – along.

The first time I visited Walt Disney World was when I was 6 years old.  Music was playing everywhere we went.  From the Electrical Light Parade choreography and daytime parades, the queues for the shows and rides, even to the waiting areas transportation – everything was perfectly created to invoke a specific feeling.

Disney Classics Box Set

The Disney Classics Box Set captures much of the magic that is Disney Music.  The set includes 4 discs with 94 original recordings.  Each of the discs is it’s own category: Disney Modern Classics, Disney Theme Park Classics, Disney Timeless Classics, and Disney Television Classics.  Some of my favorite songs include:

  • Modern Classics:
    • Seize the Day – Newsies
    • Under the Sea – The Little Mermaid
    • When She Loved Me – Toy Story 2
  • Theme Park Classics:
    • Yo Ho (A Pirate’s Life for Me) – Pirates of the Caribbean
    • There’s a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow – Carousel of Progress
    • One Little Spark – Journey Into Imagination
  • Timeless Classics:
    • When You Wish Upon a Star – Pinocchio
    • Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah – Song of the South
    • The Bare Necessities – The Jungle Book
  • Television Classics:
    • The Ballad of Davy Crockett – Davy Crockett – King of the Wild Frontier
    • Hot Dog! – Mickey Mouse Clubhouse
    • Winnie the Pooh – Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree

The Disney Classics Box Set also includes a special bonus!  A new medley of Disney hits by YouTube a capella sensations Peter Hollens and Alex G.  They create fully orchestrated songs using only the sounds of their voices.

Up until now, the box set has only been available for sale in the parks.  But now you can order it from Amazon!  The suggested list price is $49.98; when I added it to my Amazon Wish List the other day, though, it was on sale for under $32.00.

For whom would you purchase the Disney Classics Box Set?
