This post on healthy lunch ideas is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group™ and Lean Cuisine, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #HonestlyGood #ad http://cmp.ly/3/8vNxcO
When you’re trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle one of the biggest roadblocks can be life itself. It often feels like there just aren’t enough hours in the day to get all the necessities done, let alone anything extra. Things like the gym or getting a full night’s sleep sort of fall by the wayside.
One of the easiest ways that I’ve found to stay on track is to stock my freezer with frozen meals. Breakfast and lunch are both frequently a “lite” or healthy entree that I can pop in the microwave. They’re huge time-savers and you can’t beat the portion and calorie control that a prepackaged meal provides.
Recently while at Target picking up some of my regular selections I noticed the new Lean Cuisine Honestly Good meals. They immediately stood out from the other options simply due to their unique and beautiful packaging. When I saw they had one with a pomegranate sauce I felt compelled to read the entire description. When I did phrases like “whole chicken breasts”, “whole grains”, and “all natural” jumped out at me.
I found myself reaching for another variety, too. And then another and another: in the end I selected four of the six new varieties. Of course I had to try the Pomegranate Chicken, and then I added Plum Ginger Grain-Crusted Fish, Honey Citrus Chicken, and Pineapple Black Pepper Beef. Seriously, my mouth was watering just reading the names. They also have Roasted Red Pepper Chicken and Lemongrass Salmon, which I plan to try next.
One of my favorite things about the Honestly Good meals is that the sauce comes in a packet that you can add yourself. Some meals come drenched in sauce – sauce that might not even be that good to start with. But with a separate packet you can control how much flavor you’re getting.
The Pineapple Black Pepper Beef ended up being what I made first and it was delicious. The green and yellow wax beans reminded me of when I was younger and I would help my father in the garden when we would snap off a bean here or pull a carrot there. The beef wasn’t tough like a lot of frozen entrees can be, either. And the pineapple sauce added the perfect finishing touch.
The rest of the meals were just as good. I literally licked my fork clean of the pomegranate sauce. I absolutely will be replacing some of my previous frozen meals with some of these new healthy lunch ideas. Good, wholesome food, on the table in 6 minutes or less. What’s not to like?
