Pond's Luminous Skin Care Line

When I shop at a drug store there are two things I invariably purchase: nail polish and skin care items.  I love to experiment with both new shades of polish as well as new formulations of skin lotions, face scrubs, exfoliators, and more.  It’s my way of keeping on trend and current without breaking the bank.

As a teenager and 20-something I mostly focused on basic cleaning and keeping acne-free.  Now that I’m in my mid-30s, though, my needs are different.  I look for products that keep my skin bright, moisturized, and when possible contain SPF.  The new POND’S Luminous line meets all my needs and more.

The Luminous line consists of four products:

  1. POND’S Luminous Moisture Day Lotion with SPF 15
  2. POND’S Luminous Clean Cream Cleanser
  3. POND’S Luminous Clean Daily Exfoliating Cleanser
  4. POND’S Luminous Clean Wet Cleansing Towelettes

The cleansers each contain soft white Kaolin clay that acts like a magnet to draw out deep-dwelling impurities.  Between the Kaolin clay, the texture of the cloths, and the microbeads in the daily exfoliating cleanser, your face not only gets a great cleaning but also feels incredibly smooth after each wash.  All the products are very gentle on your skin, however; as someone with sensitive skin that’s important to me and I can attest that the products didn’t irritate at all (they’re all hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic, and dermatologist tested). While most might consider June-August to “officially” be wedding season, with the royal couple tying the knot a few weeks ago, they’ve already kicked us off for the year.  On a more personal level, a cousin of mine just married his new bride last weekend.

A lot of people had really been waiting for the royal wedding, but as I’ve shared with you a few times over the past couple of months, the wedding that I personally am waiting on pins and needles for is the wedding of my brother and his lovely fiancee.  I’m part of the bridal party, so I don’t have to worry about what I’ll be wearing; the dresses have already been chosen for us.  (They’re actually quite nice as bridesmaid dresses go; I could wear it again to a party if I wanted.  Can’t say the same for every bridesmaid dress that’s tucked into the back of my closet!)

In the past, though, deciding what to wear as a guest has occasionally been a wee bit stressful.  Should I go short or long?  Do I need to (yuck) wear tights or nylons?  (Not that they can’t be adorable, I just like my legs to be bare.  Tights make me hot.)  And the major question: can I find a dress that makes me look taller than I am (5’2″), hides any flaws (is there anyone on the planet that actually loves their thighs?) and plays up my best features (Baby C has been a blessing to both my décolletage and toning my upper arms)?
