This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Gulf County, Florida for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Having lived in Florida – twice now – I can honestly say it’s one of my favorite states.  There’s just so much to do there!  And many of those things can be found in one big area: Gulf County.

Bubbles has been asking to go to the beach for awhile now.  I keep telling her Mama wants to go, too!  I’m definitely anxious to get my toes in some sand and feel the sun on my skin again, especially after the exceptionally long winter we’ve had. Continue reading »

This post brought to you by Now Resorts & Spas. All opinions are 100% mine.

Anyone else spend these cold winter days dreaming of a tropical vacation?  I can almost feel the sand between my toes and the sun on my arms.  It’s a far cry from having to bang a half-dozen times on my mailbox to get the ice to shatter enough to open it.

My day dreams are being fueled right now by Now Resorts & Spas.  I saw photos from their resorts recently and I it made me wish I could hop a plane and head out to one of their four locations.  Three resorts are in Mexico and one is in the Dominican Republic, and they’re all gorgeous.

Now Resorts & Spas

One of the things I like most about Now Resorts & Spas is that even though they’re an All-inclusive luxury resort they have a strong focus on Family travel.  This is important to us when we consider travel plans because when we vacation, we vacation as a family.  Bubbles could enjoy the Explorer’s Kids Club (ages 3-12) and Austin would be able to ditch the lame “old people” and check out the Core Zone Teens Club (ages 13-17).  Both have supervised activities by specially trained staff at no extra cost. Universal CityWalk is really expanding this year.  It’s been quite a few years – when we last lived in Florida – since we’ve had a chance to visit, but it’s looking like we may need to plan a trip at some point.  Between the new introductions on the CityWalk, itself, and the addition to the Harry Potter section of the park, I can think of a few things I’d like to see!

Antojitos Authentic Mexican Food at Universal CityWalk

One of the newest openings has been the recent grand opening of Antojitos Authentic Mexican Food.  It officially opened on February 5th and became the second eatery to debut as part of the planned expansion to Universal’s entertainment complex.  With it’s colorful look, authentic cuisine and Mexican folk art, Antojitos is a journey through the cantinas and markets of Mexico City. This post brought to you by Enterprise Rent-A-Car. All opinions are 100% mine.

We’re a little bit over the cold weather here at our house.  It’s definitely had us missing Florida and the “brisk” 40s-50s we usually experienced in the winter down there.  I’ve been daydreaming about us just tossing our things in a suitcase and taking off on a road trip in search of the sun and possibly a little sand.

Honestly, though, if we were going to take a road trip right now, it would probably be north.  I know, right into more cold, what’s up with that?  But it’s actually been warmer in Northern Maine than it has been here some days, and at least they have the right type and amount of snow to both play in and ski on.

New England Road Trip Ideas with Enterprise

When we road trip, we like to rent a vehicle to drive.  It’s nice not to add the wear and tear to our own car, and we get pick out an SUV that has plenty of space for toting around all the supplies needed for a family that includes a toddler.  And renting with Enterprise allows us to Plus our Points through the Enterprise Plus program.  Learn more about it on the Enterprise Plus Your Points promotion website.

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Puerto Rico, The All-Star Island. All opinions are 100% mine.

It has been bitterly cold lately.  One day this past week, the high was 19.  Nineteen degrees.
Now, I grew up in northern Maine so I’m accustom to much colder temperatures.  I’ve experienced 20 and 30 degrees below zero on multiple occasions.  But this is Kentucky.  It’s not supposed to be this cold!
Weather like this makes me miss Florida and prompts me to start planning dream trips to warmer climates.  Places with palm trees and beaches.  Places like All-Star Island, Puerto Rico.

Visit Puerto Rico, the All-Star Island

I wasn’t all that familiar with what Puerto Rico had to offer until recently.  And apparently I’m not alone because Puerto Rico Tourism has partnered with TripAdvisor to help potential travelers learn more about it.  In fact, they took actual 5-star reviews and turned them into beautiful short films narrated by Puerto Rican stars to help give you a real feel for the area.
