Happy Halloween!  I hope everyone that is participating in any kind of activity tonight has a fun and safe evening.

Baby Jar Crafts: Easy DIY Halloween Luminaries

I have to say one of the things I find myself excited about as Baby C. gets older is the upcoming years of doing crafts together.  I loved crafts when I was a kid, and I love them now, but having a little one to do them with not only will add to the enjoyment but will also force me to not make excuses about “not having enough time” and just go do them.

I wanted to share this one with you sooner than Monday; since Halloween is right around the corner I thought if you were interested in making it yourself, then at least you would have this weekend to do it.

I’ve been trying to think of things to do with baby food jars since we have an unending supply around here.  So I thought that little luminary jars would be really cute – and they are! Continue reading »

Halloween Costumes Made Easy with Costume Supercenter (Review)

Halloween was always a fun event growing up in my family.  We lived in a sort of rural area and this meant that Trick or Treating was not a walking affair.  We would put on our Halloween costumes, load into the car, and then drive around to each house to collect candy, homemade popcorn balls, and other goodies (we only went to the houses of friends and family).

After we were done making all our stops we would head to my grandparents house for homemade donuts, brownies and cider and wait for my 1st cousins to arrive.  Then we’d dump out our candy and trade each other for favorites.  Over the years more and more people would make my grandparents’ house their last stop – or in some cases, their only stop – so they could enjoy the homemade donuts and other goodies and to visit with friends and family they didn’t often see.  On some Halloweens the crowd grew to nearly 100 – not bad considering the population of the town was only 1500.
