Do you have someone on your list this year that you just can’t decide what to get for them? You know you want to give them something a little special but haven’t been able to hit the proverbial nail on the head when it comes to choosing. How about giving them the gift of personal branding?
If you look at Instagram and Twitter it’s easy to see that it’s not just brands companies or blogs that are getting social or putting their name on things. Everyday folks (and more pets than I can count) want the chance to be heard or share what’s on their mind. And now with a domain .ME website it’s easier than ever to carve out an online presence.
Think about the cool and catchy site names you could come up with a .ME extension. Date.Me, Marry.Me, About.Me, Wow.Me and – one of my personal favorites – Despicable.Me. Those are all taken, of course, but they show you just how much a Me URL can stick with you. And if you’re not wanting to use it for a business, just owning a site with your own name that ends with .ME would be kind of awesome (sadly, Liza.Me is taken too).
Me Is About You
I’m actually giving my cousin Damie a Me website for Christmas. A couple of years ago (or maybe longer at this point, time flies) she opened her own photography business. She has her own Facebook page but no website to go with it, and I thought she might like a place that she can show off her portfolio and work to attract more customers.
I’ll be interested to see if she goes with her name, her photography business name, or something even more creative. While I wait to see what she comes up with, I’m going to be whiling away the time plugging new naming ideas into the .ME search box and see what unique URLs I can come up with. I may just stumble across the perfect name for a new blog idea I have kicking around!
Oh and in case you were curious there are over 160 accredited Domain.ME registrars (a.k.a. partners where you can purchase a .ME URL). The list includes companies you’re probably familiar with like GoDaddy, Network Solutions, and Wild West Domains.
