I received the Sky Viper QuadCopter and other products in order to facilitate my post. All thoughts and words are my own.
Remote control…. The technology was still a bit limited back then, though, as most of our R/C products were tethered by cords running from the controller to the car. Even once they graduated to cordless controls they were still a bit clunky – but of course still very fun!
Innovation never stops, though, and today’s R/C toys are pretty amazing. Some of them, like the remote-controlled Sky Viper QuadCopter, are even a little mind-blowing. Four-blade copters are one of the hottest trends in the remote control market right now and they’re finally available to the mass market.
The Sky Viper QuadCopter is the biggest and most technologically-advanced option out there. It has hobby-grade precision and computer-controlled 6-axis gyro and acceleromete stabilization make this an impressive toy. The Sky Viper QuadCopter measures 16″ diagonally blade-to-blade and is constructed for both indoor and outdoor use. So if the weather outside is frightful, kids don’t have to give up the fun.
Both my husband and I were really surprised at how light the foam body and carbon fiber frame is. But even though it’s lightweight it’s designed to hold up to lots of aerial tricks like flips and barrel rolls that you can execute with a single button. And with three difficulty settings, from beginner to advanced, the whole family can enjoy playing with it at their individual skill levels.
The rechargeable lithium polymer battery has an included fast-charging A/C adapter and it is seriously fast-charging. I want to say it only took about 10 minutes which is awesome when you have an excited kid jumping around, ready to play with their new toy. Once it was charged we took it outside and had some serious fun flying it, even though it was a bit of a windy day.
It was kind of funny, because when Ashley heard what we’d been playing with, she had lots of questions. She is part of Big Brother, Big Sister, and her Little Brother had asked for this exact toy for Christmas. We were able to let her come check it out while she was home on break so she could make a decision for herself, and now someone else is going to be a Sky Viper QuadCopter pilot at Christmas!
Bubbles is seriously under the ages 12 and up recommendation that the Sky Viper comes with. But Skyrocket Toys have lots of fun products for the younger set, too. Bubbles has been playing with the Quick Attach Microscope that attaches to any iPhone, iPad, iPod or Android device.
You just snap it over the camera on your device and suddenly you have a cool microscope. With a 30x magnifying lens kiddos can closely examine the skin on their hands, tiny writing, bugs, a blade of grass, or the texture of a sea shell. Lots of ways for them to discover new and interesting things.
