A few days ago I shared with you that Champions for Kids had partnered with Spinbrush for a new SIMPLE Service Project – Spin Into Action – and that my family was excited to be participating. Well, over the past few days we’ve also involved our family and friends to collect a donation of oral health care items. We also made a return trip back to Walmart (you can see our entire first shopping trip here) to pick up a few additional donations of our own.
When we hit the oral health care aisle at Walmart I was glad to see that they had some of the Captain American Spinbrushes left, because it was one I really wanted to include in my donation. They also had plenty of the My Way! Spinbrushes which I think are completely cool (really, where were all these fun toothbrushes when I was a kid?). Since I had already picked up a Captain America one, I went with the pink My Way! one to balance it out.
They also had tons of toothpaste that had fun characters on them. I decided to get a tube with Disney Princesses on it (surprised, aren’t you?) to go with the pink My Way! toothbrush and a tube of the Toy Story to go with the Captain America toothbrush. Bubbles and I picked up a few more items to include with our donation and then returned home to pack everything up.
I was pleased that we were able to collect a donation of over a dozen items that included toothpaste, toothbrushes, floss and floss picks for our #SpinbrushCFK project and I can’t wait to drop off our donation at Lifebridge. Lifebridge partners with groups like Operation Care Kentucky that helps to provide shelter, dental and medical care, and clothing to those in need. I’m hoping that they are able to help a few families smile a little brighter. I do know that the focus on brushing and oral health care has had an impact on Bubbles. She was just starting to take an interest in brushing with us previously, but now she runs to the bathroom every morning to brush her teeth.
I wanted to give a little thank-you gift to those who helped us, so I bought some sugar-free gum and printed out labels that said thank you and had a link to the Champions for Kids website. That way they can follow up on their own and see what other ways they can get involved in SIMPLE Service Projects, if they so choose.
If you’d like more information on how to participate, you can check out the Champions For Kids Facebook page or the Spinbrush/Arm&Hammer Facebook page. And be sure to follow along on Twitter! Follow the hashtag #SpinbrushCFK as well as Champions for Kids and Spinbrush.

What a great and easy way to improve someone else’s lives. I am glad to see your children involved too.
Oral – B is by far our favorite toothbrush brand! Love it!
