Baby C. has proven to be a bit picky when it comes to eating her vegetables (much like a lot of kids, I’m sure). She loves sweet potatoes and will tolerate peas and a couple of vegetable “blends”, but had pretty much refused to eat green beans, carrots, squash, etc. no matter how many different times we tried to introduce them.
No more! This past week we received a sample box of Baby Gourmet baby food pouches. The flavor combinations are really unique – not your standard jar of bananas – and I was worried that Baby C. wouldn’t give them a chance. She ended up loving them, though!
Baby Gourmet was founded by Jennifer Broe, who wanted to feed her babies food that was both tasty and healthy. Unsatisfied with the choices she had, she created her own blends. Each pouch is filled with the best, freshest, organic, kosher ingredients they can find. No added sugar or salt, either.
It’s not just the food inside the pouches that is special – the BPA-free pouches themselves give you a few advantages. The slim pouches are easy to tuck into your purse or diaper bag for on-the-go eating (I wish I had these when we flew to Maine) and you can squeeze the food out right onto the spoon to save a dish. When the kiddos are a little older they can even feed themselves. And unlike glass jars, the thermo-dynamic pouch permits flash cooking, ensuring none of the flavor or nutrients are cooked out.
There are three lines of Baby Gourmet pouches: 6+ months, 7+ months and 8+ months. There are three flavor combinations per line; some of Baby C.’s favorites include the Juicy Pear & Garden Greens, Roasted Squash & Fruit Medley, Baby’s Sweet Potato Pie and the Harvest Pear, Pumpkin and Banana.
I can’t say enough good things about these foods. We’ll definitely be purchasing in the future. And if you don’t have a little one – they would make a great gift for a friend or a shower gift!
