I apologize for being mostly MIA for the past few days, other than getting a few of the deals posted for you.  It’s been extra hectic at work (I work full-time; not sure if I’ve ever thought to share that, or not), plus all the regular household stuff we all have going on.  I’ll be more on my game now as things have temporarily quieted.
Pooh and Friends
I did want to share the reminder that the Winnie the Pooh movie comes out tomorrow!  You definitely want to take the kiddos to see it – or even go and see it by yourself.  Over the weekend we had the pleasure of attending a special screening of it and – oh my.  So sweet!  I love that they stayed true to the “old” feeling of Pooh by using the hand-drawn art style.  Narrated by John Cleese (love him!), the story has the gang on a quest to save Christopher Robin from an imaginary culprit.  Plus trying to find a new tail for Eeyore (who has always been one of my favorite Disney characters)!  The kiddos gave it a 4 out of 5, and I’d give it a 5, myself.  There’s one part where Pooh uses his belly as a drum that was particularly appreciated by the folks in the theater.
Pooh and his Hunny Pot

Pooh is one of Baby C’s favorite characters, too, right now – her eyes light up when she sees him and she loves on her stuffed Pooh Bear and Eeyore when she naps in her swing or in her car seat while we’re driving.  So when this comes out on DVD, it’s going to be a must-buy, for sure.  I honestly think that you and your family will love this film, too.

The great folks at Disney and Walt Disney Motion Picture Studios have also released some awesome activities and recipes.  There are a couple of cake pop recipes from Bakerella herself (love her stuff), plus additional sweet treats and crafts.  You can find the entire collection here.

If you haven’t had a chance to catch any of the previews for this film yet, here’s a trailer for you:

For more info on the film, characters and more, checkout the Pooh Facebook page, the Disney Animation Twitter page, and the Pooh section of the Disney website.
Tigger and Eeyore
Winnie the Pooh is rated G and is in theaters everywhere tomorrow.
Let me leave you with some of Pooh’s Philosophy on life.
“I am a bear of very little brain and long words bother me.”
“If everything is honey and I am what I eat, I must be made of honey and life is sweet.”
“It’s good to face your fears, especially when you’ve been hiding from them for awhile.”

If you see the film, please leave a comment and share your thoughts and your favorite part!

The PR company provided my family and I with passes to the screening.  No additional compensation was received and all opinions are, as always, 100% my and my family’s.

Pirates of the Caribbean 4 Remains a Stranger

This weekend I had hoped to bring you a first-hand review of Disney’s new Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.  Disney had sent me passes to attend the local premier last week and hubby and I were both excited to see the movie and nervous about the excursion as it was going to be the first time that we had both left Baby C at the since she had been born.

We had planned to have her stay with my in-laws and they were really looking forward to having her all to themselves for the night.  We thought it was the perfect arrangement: they visit often so she’s extremely familiar with them, she’s been to their house so she should be comfortable with her surroundings, and their house is only 5 minutes from the theater so in the event of a problem we could be there fast.  The imperfect part turned out to be fooling myself into thinking that I could possibly plan anything involving a 3 month old that would play out the way we envisioned.

Baby C had been a little fussy during the day which was unusual for her, but I assumed she was just a little tired from the weekend.  We got her packed up and drove up to the in-laws.  She was quiet and content for the drive but as soon as we walked into the house and undid the harness on her car seat she started to cry.  And not what normally passes for “crying” with her which is a few “eh..eh”s.  This was full-on wailing; we had honestly never heard her make sounds like that before.  She was sobbing so hard she couldn’t even catch her breath and I could barely console her.  Obviously there was no way I was going to leave her while she was upset so we got her quieted down enough to hook her into her car seat and took her home.  Her Papaw and Grammy so disappointed and were worried that she was suddenly scared of them.

In the end, we think she maybe just had some tummy troubles for the first time, because one dirty diaper and a couple of hours later she was all smiles and giggles again.

So very long story short – we still have not yet seen PotC4.  We do plan to try again on our own in a week or two, though, so hopefully I will be able to share with you then.  In the meantime if you’ve seen it please feel free to share your opinion and tell me what you thought of it.  Just no spoilers yet, please.  In case, you know, we actually make it to the theater next time.

By the way, don’t forget that today is the last day to enter to win a Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides giveaway!

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides
Arr, matey!  Are you as excited to see Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides as I am?  I have been a fan of the franchise since the day I saw the first one announced.  I am a huge Disney fan and throw in some pirates and Mr. Johnny Depp himself?  Well, I’m there with an eye patch on!
(Fun Fact: Can you spot the “hidden Mickey” in the promotional poster above?)

PotC4 sails into theaters in Disney Digital 3D on Friday, May 20th.  Johnny Depp returns as Captain Jack Sparrow who, while searching for the Fountain of Youth, crosses paths with Angelica (Penelope Cruz).  She forces him onto the ship “Queen Anne’s Revenge,” the ship of the legendary pirate Blackbeard (Ian McShane).  Geoffery Rush returns as Captain Barbossa and Kevin McNally reprises his role as Jack’s longtime comrade Joshamee Gibbs.  There are new additions to the cast, too, including Phillip (Sam Claflin), a missionary, and Syrena (Astrid Berges-Frisbey), a mysterious mermaid.

Want to see more?  Check out PotC4 on Facebook and Twitter.  And here is an extended trailer:

The black carpet world premiere was held on Saturday on Tom Sawyer Island at Disneyland in California.  Pirate Mickey was on hand to have some fun with the cast!
