I have a confession. A few years ago, I kind of laughed at people who bought Smart TVs. I just didn’t get why you would need access to the internet from your television when you could go online from a laptop or even your phone.
A couple of years ago we decided we wanted to upgrade the flat screen in our living room and move the old one to the bedroom and the TV we ended up happening to be a Smart TV. I say “happening” because it definitely was not a deciding factor, and I honestly never thought we’d use those features. But then I realized that I could push a button and access things like Amazon, Hulu, even watch YouTube videos. In beautiful high-def on a big screen. And suddenly, I was sold.
Logitech Harmony Smart Keyboard
The one thing I wasn’t as crazy about is using fourteen remotes to switch back and forth through things, and needing to use the tiny keyboard on the back of our remote as an input device. But now there’s an answer even to that – the Logitech Harmony Smart Keyboard available at Best Buy. Allowing for control of up to eight devices, this keyboard can greatly simplify your media experience.
First the keyboard simplifies text entry on internet-connected entertainment devices. I have small hands so typing on a small keypad isn’t difficult, but it can be annoying. But having a larger typing surface for guests (like my parents) who may find it difficult to see the small buttons of a regular remote is definitely a nice plus.
One-Touch Buttons
It has integrated DVR and set-top box controls, playback and volume buttons, and a touchpad for cursor control on a PC or Mac. Plus there are three one-touch activity buttons to use. For example, pressing the “Movie” button switches all your devices to the correct settings to be able to watch a movie.
Harmony App
And with the Harmony App you can turn your smartphone into a personal universal remote. I don’t know about you, but I always know where my phone is, while tracking down our remotes is a daily task. Being able to just use my phone instead is much more convenient!

I’ve been hearing such awesome things about this keyboard. I want it! I have to say the one touch buttons are one of the most appealing… and that it’s wireless.
I was right there with you a couple years ago. Now we have a smart TV and I see how great it is. The only thing we are missing is a smart keyboard like this! I’m going to show this to hubby.

We need to get one of these! It’s so hard to search for movies on our TV when you have to click through every letter with a remote.

We have an AppleTV and not Roku, but it’s supposed to work perfectly with Roku, too. I’m sure you’d love it!
