We love pasta in all it’s forms, but classic spaghetti will always be on the list of favorites in our house. And while we most often eat it with a red sauce, the warmer weather has me pondering ways to give it a spring twist. What better way to say spring than with fresh herbs?
Gourmet Garden had just been kind enough to send us a cooler full of their beautiful herbs, so I decided to make my Spaghetti with Herbed Garlic Butter Sauce. It will have your entire kitchen so fragrant with the smell of garlic and basil that you’ll want to eat it straight from the pan. Fortunately it takes less than 15 minutes start to finish to make, so it will be on your plate soon enough!
- 8 oz spaghetti
- 3 T butter
- 1½ T Garden Gourmet Chunky Garlic
- 1 T Garden Gourmet Basil
- 2 cups baby spinach, chopped
- salt & pepper to taste
- Parmesan cheese, for garnish
- Cook spaghetti according to the package instructions.
- Meanwhile, melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
- While the butter melts, chop the baby spinach; set aside.
- Once the butter has melted, add the garlic and basil. Stir until well-combined and cook 2-3 minutes.
- Add spinach and cook an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Remove cooked pasta from the pot and add to the saucepan. Use tongs to completely coat the pasta with the sauce.
- Season with salt & pepper to taste.
- Serve immediately, grating Parmesan cheese on top before eating.
It’s so delicious! My husband has taken a liking to pine nuts and asked that next time I add a few in. It was a great suggestion, so feel free to add some to yours if you’d like.

Pine nuts would be a great addition- either way it would still be amazing!
Spaghetti is always a hit in our house- it’ll be nice to switch up our traditional red sauce for this one! Thx!
Beautiful pasta dish! I love all the ingredients you used!
Love how the spaghetti is not fully of tomato sauce. Refreshing.
I use these all the time in all my meals, i love using them to add flavor to soups, stews, casseroles, marinades, steaks, burgers and even when I’m whipping up omelets.
I love cooking with herbs and spices – and use them ALL the time: my “Spice Rack” is literally a library/cupboard with with little jars and tins…
The problem is pre-dried herbs that sit around in opened containers – sometimes for years – tend to lose their essence (their “soul”) that’s what I love about Gourmet Garden Herbs & Spices – fresh taste at your fingertips – all of the time.
Cooking with herbs opens up all whole world of flavors and tastes really makes cooking fun and meals come alive. Herbs can make “healthy foods” people think they don’t like suddenly taste flavorful and yummy – and help you cut way down on the use of unwanted salt/sodium in your diet.
We always grown our own herb garden indoors and out – and I can’t imagine cooking without them (I even have a travel size kit of 30 different herbs and spices!)
Thanks for the recipe!

I would use the herbs in my everyday cooking to make everything yummy!
I would use the herbs in any type of sauce. I’m currently cooking for my Dad, who is on a low-sodium diet and herbs kick up the flavor without risking elevated blood pressure!
I’d like to have the basil and garlic to make pesto.
Thanks for the contest.

I would use the herbs in thai lemongrass-ginger, shrimp soup Tum Yum soup.
I haven’t tried squeezable herbs, but they look so handy that I need to pick up a tube at the store next time! Thanks for a great recipe. I love classic spaghetti too
