I’ve loved home decorating most of my life. I think I may have shared this before, but I actually considered a career in interior design for awhile. I like looking over colors and prints and textures and deciding how they might change up a room.
There are some great new trends this spring, especially in terms of colors. Grays and blues – both favorites of mine – are in, so there are lots of paint and accessory choices in my favorite color palettes. Light wood finishes are in, too, but I’m still more a fan of darker shades.
Keeping up with new trends and incorporating them into your home can be costly, though. So I like to take advantage of sales whenever possible. And right now there’s a great one, the Kmart Semi Annual Home Sale!
I remember growing up my parents were quite relaxed about the destruction my brothers and I rained on our house, like in this video. Tables colored on, windows broken; they didn’t encourage our behavior but thankfully they didn’t freak out over spilled milk.
