Bubbles loves pretty much any kind of craft project you put in front of her.  It doesn’t matter if it’s painting, gluing, using stickers or pompoms or stampers – she’s in.

Not too long ago the folks at Fibre Craft offered to send us some of their new Creative Hands craft totes to review.  They’re recommended for ages 6+ but once I took a look at the kits I decided that Bubbles would be able to complete most of them on her own, and some with a little help.

Fibre Craft Creative Hands Crafting Kits - Zoo 2 Do

We received the Zoo 2 Do, Creative Fun Tote, and Paper Pals Bugs & Flowers kits.  They were in the house for about five minutes before she couldn’t wait any longer and asked if we could give the Zoo 2 Do a try.  So we cleared off her table for a nice, flat crafting surface and sorted the contents.

The Zoo 2 Do kit alone has 25 different projects featuring a monkey, giraffe, lion, zebra and more.  The first one we attempted was the cheetah and giraffe “puppets”.  I loved the simple concept: stick the appropriate shape of adhesive squares in the outlined spot to attach the pieces.  Then stick one of the “grips” to the back of the animal so you can more easily hold the puppet.

Aside from peeling the paper backing off the adhesive squares (which was a little tough for even me), these are projects Bubbles can complete all by herself.  Aside from the fun of the craft, learning to determine the correct shapes and place them inside the lines was good practice for Bubbles.

The next day we worked on one of the flowers (one of 12 projects) in the Paper Pals Bugs & Flowers kit.  This one required a little more assistance as there was cutting involved (to make the petals of the flower).  But the actual decorating portion of the craft she was able to do completely on her own.  It was a little hard to get the stem to stick to the flower, but a little tape solved that problem.

The Creative Fun Tote has a lot of pompoms and things in it and I have some ideas of projects I want to create for Bubbles using them.  I love that it’s just an open-ended box of fun that lets kids really flex their imagination muscle.  All three Fibre Craft Creative Hands kits are available at Meijer.
