Deodorant is one of those things that it takes awhile to find the perfect one, much like finding the perfect shade of lipstick or foundation. You just have to keep trying them until you stumble across the right one for your body chemistry and activity needs. I know that between junior high and high school, I probably tried every brand, formulation, and scent that was on the market.
And then I found Dove, and my days of searching were over. Seriously, I’ve been using Dove deodorant exclusively for at least a decade. For me, I haven’t found another deodorant that goes on as smoothly, keeps me dry and does as much to help nourish my skin as Dove does.
Underarm Irritation
Wetness and odor aren’t the only two issues that you may have with your underarm area, though. Shaving can do a real number there, especially if you’re someone who is prone to dry, sensitive skin (like me). Underarm skin loses 50% more moisture due to shaving, which can lead to irritation. In fact, 32 million women in the U.S. experience underarm red and dark marks that result from shaving.
Now Dove has launched a new line of deodorant to help with this problem. Dove Clear Tone Anti-Perspirant/Deodorant is designed to reduce red and dark marks in just two weeks, while also providing 1 / 4 moisturizers to replenish skin after women’s daily shaving routines. It’s formulated with Calendula and Sunflower Seed extracts which accelerates the natural skin renewal process to help restore skin to its natural tone. And it still provides 48-hour odor and wetness protection.
I’ve been using the new Dove Clear Tone in place my regular Dove deodorant for a couple of weeks now. I’ve definitely noticed less redness as well as less irritation, even after shaving. I’ve been using the Sheer Touch version but it also comes in Skin Renew and the new Pink Rosa, a fruity, floral fragrance.
