I participated in a campaign to raise awareness of the Save the Children partnership with Johnson’s Baby CARES program on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for JOHNSON’s Baby. I received a promotional item as a thank you for participating.
This past weekend was Mother’s Day and I know many of us spent the day sharing words of love and thanks with our mothers, grandmothers, and those who have acted as a mother in our lives. My Mom and Gram are back in Maine, so my words were shared over the phone and in the package of cards we mailed last week. I would loved for us to have been able to visit so they could also have received snuggly hugs from Bubbles.
Living so far away from my Mom isn’t always easy; as a first-time mom, myself, I often wonder/worry/question a lot of things. Fortunately all I have to do is pick up the phone and she passes on her wisdom an encouragement. I’ve mentioned Bubbles’ less than stellar sleep habits and her picky eating. My Mom assures me it’s all fine and even clips articles from the paper on those topics just to help me feel better. An “Oh, she’ll grow out of it” means more coming from her than any research I could read online.
Having someone in your corner means more than words can adequately describe.
Unfortunately not everyone is fortunate enough to have that kind of support. Research shows that early education, beginning with prenatal moms and babies at birth, is critical to a child’s healthy advancement. So Johnson’s Baby has stepped in with their CARES program and partnered with Save the Children in an effort to address this need. Together they are offering parenting skills and strategies, as well as the social support and encouragement that needed for success, to more than 10,000 children, parents, and caregivers.
Right now you have the opportunity to help raise funds for Save the Children just by sending a note of encouragement to a mother of your choosing. Just visit the giving tab of the Johnson’s Baby Facebook page and create a care card. For each card sent Johnson’s Baby will donate $1 to Save the Children – up to $150,000 to benefit early childhood education.
You can use a pre-made care card or easily create one of your own. I chose to create one of my own by clicking through their prompts. They had a greeting about being new at motherhood and that’s the one I selected. My cousin had her first baby a few weeks ago and I wanted her to know I was thinking of her on a very special day. She is an amazing mom, but that doesn’t mean that she couldn’t use a little verbal reminder now and then – like all of us.
