This X-Men: Days of Future Past movie post is sponsored by Global Influence. All words and opinions are my own.

The more commercials I see for X-Men Days of Future Past, the more excited I get.  We’ve always enjoyed the X-Men movies, and this one looks like it could top the others in terms of awesomeness.

And, let’s all be honest. Hugh Jackman.  Yes.

It opens on May 23rd, a few days after Ashley graduates, which means she should be home and available to babysit while hubby and I have a date night.  It’s been awhile since we’ve had the opportunity to catch a movie at the theater, just the two of us, so it will be a nice treat.

X-Men Days of Future Past Exclusive Axe Gift Pack with FREE #XMen Movie Poster

Before we head out to watch it, I’ll be stopping by Walgreens to pick up the X-Men: Days of Future Past Axe® gift pack with a free movie poster inside.  Both hubby and Austin like many of the Axe products, so it’s something we’d be buying, anyway.  Maybe gift packs for each of them for graduation and Father’s Day.  The free X-men poster will be a nice little bonus. This hair care post is a sponsored partnership. All thoughts and words are my own.

Over the years I’ve tried hundreds of different hair care products.  Partly because I love trying new products, and partly because I sort of have an issue with volume.  And by “sort of have an issue” I mean it took the better part of a can of hair spray and more than one package of bobby pins to get my prom look to stay in place.

Suave, Dove & TRESemmé Hair Care Products at Walgreens #TryAndTell

I had the chance to try a few new hair care products lately, products by Suave®, Dove®, and TRESemmé®.   I was especially excited when I saw one of them – the Dove® Oxygen Moisture – was specifically formulated for flat hair.  The other two looked interesting, also, with promises for smoother, shinier hair. We received roughly four inches of snow over the weekend, which is fairly big news for this part of Kentucky.  It was the good kind of snow, too.  The snow was sticky enough to make into a snowman and was accompanied by weather warm enough you wanted to stay out and play.  Bubbles was thrilled with the opportunity to get out and play.

She’s been cooped up for awhile now.  Actually, our house in general has been mostly on lockdown while everyone passed a stomach bug and colds back and forth.  I’ve only been hit with the cold part, which is fortunate because someone has to be able to keep everyone hydrated, clothes washed, and chicken noodle soup served up. Want some free hair care tips from experts?  I know I do!  So next weekend, on November 9th, I’ll be heading over for a TRESemmé Walgreens Saturdate.  Trained Walgreens Beauty Advisors will be on hand for product trials and sample giveaways to help you get salon-quality products at an affordable price.

TRESemmé Walgreens Saturdate on November 9, 2013

I’ve always had really good luck with TRESemmé products.  I’ve been using their dry shampoo from the Fresh Start line.  It’s a great way to give yourself a little freshen-up if you don’t have time to wash your hair. Continue reading »

As part of a sponsored post for Collective Bias® I was able to use the new Answers at Walgreens program to find sleep solutions.  All words and opinions are mine.

I’ve always been a night owl, but it’s never kept me from sleeping before.  I’m not one of those people that can fall asleep while draped over the arm of a chair, and I can’t sleep in a moving vehicle, but when I laid my head down on a pillow, I could sleep.  It served me well when I was in college, when sleep was the last thing on my to-do list.  Between classes, being an RA, studying and a social life, who had time for sleep?  So I was thankful that when I did finally have a chance to close my eyes, I didn’t lie there looking at the ceiling for hours, and I didn’t wake til the alarm sounded.

Over the years, though, there has been a shift in my ability to get quality sleep.  Work stress would make me toss and turn, and then I was rarely able to sleep for more than an hour at a time while pregnant.  While I hoped it would resolve itself as Bubbles got older and we had a better nighttime routine, that hasn’t really been the case.  I still keep with the tradition of being able to fall asleep fairly easily, it’s the staying asleep that continues to be a problem.  I wake up to check if Bubbles has kicked her blankets off (again), from dreams, and because the neighbor kids seem to think that 3 a.m. is the perfect time to blare music from their car speakers.  By then the sun comes up and I can’t even think about falling back to sleep (another new development in the past few years).
