Over the past few weeks, we’ve been enjoying watching Thor: The Dark World Blu-ray/DVD combo pack. I was excited when I found out that we’d be receiving a screener copy of the disc; you may remember that I actually had the honor of walking the Thor: The Dark World red carpet and watching the film at the premier, so I was chomping at the bit for the chance to see it again.

I also was excited that everyone was going to finally get to see the movie I’d been raving about for months. Not everyone had the opportunity to catch it in theaters, so nearly literally as soon as I carried it in the door everyone was asking when we were going to watch it. I was anxious for them to see it and share their thoughts (and I was anxious to see Tom Hiddleston again), so I popped it in the Blu-ray player and we all sat down to watch. Continue reading »

At the start of 2013 I shared with you my favorite Disney movies of 2012. There were so many great new additions this past year that I wanted to share a 2013 Disney movies roundup with you. All of these movies – listed in chronological order – are can’t-miss and if you didn’t catch them at the theater or pick up DVD copies yet, you should plan to for this year.

Oz the Great and Powerful

A visually stunning movie, Oz the Great and Powerful provides you with information about the world of Oz with which you might not previously have been familiar. The movie is more for adults than kids, but there are plenty of kid-friendly tie-ins for the movie, like the Oz Fashion Dolls. Thank you to Disney for covering my expenses on our press trip to interview Zachary Levi, among others. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

On the same day that we were able to sit down and interview Tom Hiddleston and Jaimie Alexander, we also had the pleasure of speaking with Zachary Levi. Zachary, well-known for the title role in the television series Chuck and for the voice of Flynn Rider in Tangled, picked up the role of Fandral for Thor: The Dark World.

Yes, it was a whole lot of awesome in one day.

Thank you to Disney for covering my expenses on a recent press trip where I was able to interview Jaimie Alexander. No additional compensation was received and all opinions are my own.

I share the other day all the fun from my Tom Hiddleston interview. But Tom wasn’t the only Thor: The Dark World cast member that we were able to speak with while in L.A. We also had the chance to sit down with Jaimie Alexander who plays the Asgardian warrior Sif.

You probably heard Jaimie’s name mentioned quite a few times right after the Thor: The Dark World red carpet premiere. It seems that nearly every news outlet was talking about her dress. We didn’t get to see it right away as she was wearing a coat during our interview, but once we arrived on the carpet and had a chance to see it, you can understand why it was being talked about: it made quite the statement. I have to say that one of the highlights for me of our trip to L.A. was the round-table interviews. It’s a great opportunity to see what the person behind some of your favorite characters is actually like. And in this case, that person was Tom Hiddleston and the character was Loki.

Let me just start by saying that Tom Hiddleston is amazing. From the moment he walked in, to the moment he walked out, he was charismatic and engaging. He was also extremely funny. In fact, as he sat down at the table in front of the room to introduce himself at the Thor: The Dark World bad guy Loki, he said “…um, I feel like I should be sitting here with a white cat and stroking it.” Continue reading »
