When I was growing up, watching baseball with my father was one of my favorite things to do.  If you lived in Maine, you were a Red Sox fan by default, so my entire family (minus me, the Yankees defector) watched pretty much every game.  We even drove to Boston for games at Fenway now and then, and the minor league games in the southern part of the state.

Father's Day Gift Ideas and the Target and Dove Men+Care Baseball Sweepstakes #DOVEALLSTARDAD

A lot of father’s enjoy baseball, and if a father figure in your life does, as well, then you need to head over and enter the sweepstakes from Target and Dove Men+Care.  Create a quick video – either using Instagram or directly on the sweepstakes website – and using #DOVEALLSTARDAD as your hashtag.  Instagram videos can be up to 15 seconds long, and ones submitted directly can be up to 30 seconds.  But hurry – the submission period closes on May 4th. This is a sponsored post. I am a Sears blogger, though all opinions are my own.

I have to say that I’ve always enjoyed winning things.  I think the first thing I remember winning was a plush Popples toy (if you have no idea what I’m talking about, you weren’t a young child in the 80s) from a school raffle.  My most recent wins were a few free candy bar coupons that showed up in the mail today.

There are lots of sweepstakes, instant win games, and giveaways around the internet.  One great – and maybe surprising – place to look for them, though, is on the Shop Your Way Rewards website.  The site offers a wide range of sweepstakes and prizes, from points you can use at Sears and Kmart to diamonds and vacations.  To date, Shop Your Way #SWEEPS has had over 40,000 winners!

Shop Your Way HDTV Sweepstakes

Right now one of their top contests is an HDTV sweepstakes.  They’re giving away a 65″ 3D LED HDTV, and you can bet I’ve entered myself!  It’s one prize that my husband has let me know he’s be pretty okay with me winning.  The television includes shipping, accessories, and installation, for a total prize worth of nearly $4,000. This review was made possible by Double Duty Divas and Pampers. I was provided the featured product free of charge to facilitate my review, but all opinions are 100% mine.

The world is watching Sochi right now as athletes from around the world compete for personal pride and love of country.  We’ve tuned in with them; it’s hard to not be drawn to something so amazing.  Am I the only one that watches and wonders, “Man, if only I’d taken ski lessons”?

While my own personal Olympic dreams may have never been more than a wish in a review mirror, it’s exciting to think about what the future might have in store for Bubbles.  Right now she loves so many different things it’s impossible to guess what sports or activity she may eventually settle into.  She’s loved watching the Olympics with us, particularly the skiing and skating, and has made us chuckle as she jumps up and down cheering “Faster!  You can do it, go!”.

Pampers knows our littlest athletes have big dreams ahead of them, too.  So they’ve partnered with Team USA members Noelle Pikus Pace (who already snagged a silver in skeleton!) and David Wise (freestyle skiing).  They’re both parents and, like Pampers, are proven performers. Continue reading »

This is a sponsored post. However, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

I’ve always been thankful that the friendships I made in elementary school, junior high, and high school have transcended both the years and the miles.  Since graduation I left Maine for college in Florida, then back to Maine to work for a few years, then back to Florida for a job, and now here in Kentucky.  All the back-and-forth could definitely cause strain on some connections.

The one thing that isn’t always easy is the ability to cheer each other up.  During high school if any of my gal pals were feeling blue over a guy or a grade or anything else, the fix was easy.  We headed out to share a large order of french fries and then back to my house to watch the movie Grease.

Smile It Forward with Invisalign

Not too long ago one of my BFFs from Maine was having a rough few days.  You know those weeks were absolutely nothing goes right?  She had a couple of those back-to-back and I wanted to do something for her.  So I popped over to one of my favorite gift basket merchants and had a little pick-me-up delivered to her house. This post is part of a Fashionista Event. I was provided a promotional item by Coupons.com to inform you of their Black Friday Sales, their Top 10 Gifts Giveaway and our $500 giveaway.

I honestly cannot believe that Thanksgiving is next week.  It feels like yesterday was September!  And following on the heels of Thanksgiving is Christmas.

I started asking the kiddos to make their wishlists (I don’t care how old you are, you’re never too old for a wishlist) for me a couple of weeks ago.  They’ve been slow to fill them up, and I’ve been nudging them with the lighthearted threats of empty boxes under the tree unless they start handing them over.  To be honest, I’m getting a tiny bit nervous because by this time each year, I’m mostly finishing up lists, not starting them.
