When I shared Gram’s recipe for Corn Fritters with you the other day, I mentioned how this time of year is when I seem to miss her most.  Spending time in the kitchen with her was something I always loved.

These Old Fashioned Soft Molasses Drop Cookies are topped with a maple glaze and a bit of walnut.

I’m fortunate to have many of my favorite recipes that were hers on recipe cards in her own handwriting.  For many years she always tucked one or two into my stocking at Christmas so I could add them to my collection. Continue reading »

I’ve been having all kinds of fun this year with baby shower recipes, DIY baby gifts, and cute ideas for “Baby’s 1st” everything.  Honestly, I wish I had the time and energy to have done a lot of these things right after Bubbles was born, but I was pretty exhausted those first few months.

This #SimplyHealthy DIY gratitude tree shop on teaching toddlers thankfulness has been compensated by #CollectiveBias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone.

How do you teach toddlers to be thankful?  With Thanksgiving looming just days away, it’s a question that has been on my mind.  I want Bubbles to be able to put meaning to the holidays and not just look at them as a time that everyone gets together to eat.

Sam's Club Healthy Living Made Simple App

I recently was flipping through the Healthy Living Made Simple app on my iPhone (it’s also available for the iPad) and I came across an article on teaching toddlers thankfulness.  The app is a companion for the online magazine from Sam’s Club.  It had some good information – plus a nice reassurance that it’s completely normal for your toddlers to not always remember to say thank you before opening a gift or to grumbling about what they have versus what they want.
