Bubbles is quickly turning into a rabid reader and I couldn’t be more pleased. Seasonal and holiday-themed books – like kids Easter books – are some of my favorites, as rotating them in and out keep them fresh for your little reader.

Pinterest is, even after all these years, still probably one of my favorite websites. There are tons of great DIY ideas, tantalizing recipes, and just plain pretty stuff. There are enough projects there to keep me busy for probably the rest of my life.
While I usually have the intent of making each recipe or completing each project that I pin, I do keep one board of pins that are for more immediate inspiration. There are a few new DVDs for kids that are just releasing or releasing soon that I wanted to let you know about. Some of these star our favorite current characters and would be well-received by any of the kiddos in your life, I’m sure!
Bubbles is all about My Little Ponies right now, and so this is one I hope to order for her. In My Little Pony – Friendship is Magic: Spooktacular Pony Tales you’ll join Twilight Sparkle, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Rarity, Applejack, Pinkie Pie (and, of course, Spike!) in some of the spookiest adventures Equestria has ever seen. It’s always an exciting day when a new Disney show or movie becomes available on DVD. Today’s it an offering from the Disney Junior channel, which of course makes the youngest member of our household quite excited. Especially since it features all of her classic Disney character friends.
We received a review copy of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Minnie-rella on DVD, which released today. Our family is no stranger to the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, so I was sure we’d love this new tale, and I wasn’t disappointed. Your little ones (and maybe some of you big ones) will love it.
In Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Minnie-rella, Minnie’s friends have her hard at work taking care of chores in the Clubhouse. They’re trying to keep her distracted while they get her a surprise present, but the chores tire poor Minnie out. She falls asleep and dreams she is Minnie-rella. Continue reading »

Bubbles is usually pretty good about picking up her toys. She might not get to them right away, and there may have been a whirlwind of blocks, trucks, dolls, and more around the living room and her bedroom before it’s completed, but it does get done. Occasionally, though, it does take a little prompting.
Rather than turning those rare “I don’t wanna” toy clean up times into a flow of tears, Bubbles and I came up together with a game. It’s such a fun game for her that she has been known to strew crayons and Lincoln Logs across the floor just so we can play. No method is perfect, right?
We call our cleanup game the “Find It Flashlight Game”. And it’s very easy to play. Bubbles brings me her little flashlight and I swirl the light beam around the room, saying “Hmm, what do I see… what do I see?” Then the beam of light lands on a toy, and I call “I found something!” prompting Bubbles to run over to the toy, pick it up, and store it away.
