Thank you to Disney/Marvel for covering my expenses so I could participate in the Tom Hiddleston interview. All words and opinions are my own.

I have to say that one of the highlights for me of our trip to L.A. was the round-table interviews.  It’s a great opportunity to see what the person behind some of your favorite characters is actually like.  And in this case, that person was Tom Hiddleston and the character was Loki.

Let me just start by saying that Tom Hiddleston is amazing.  From the moment he walked in, to the moment he walked out, he was charismatic and engaging.  He was also extremely funny.  In fact, as he sat down at the table in front of the room to introduce himself at the Thor: The Dark World bad guy Loki, he said “…um, I feel like I should be sitting here with a white cat and stroking it.” Continue reading »

Thank you to Disney for covering my expenses so that I could attend the premiere at the El Capitan Theatre and share my Thor The Dark World review with you.  All words and thoughts are my own.

Yesterday I shared with you my photos and experiences from attending the Delivery Man premiere at the El Capitan Theatre.  To have had that experience just once would have been amazing!  But we were fortunate enough to experience two red carpet events: Delivery Man and Thor: The Dark World.

I felt a bit more like a pro the second night, as I knew more what to expect.  It gave me the chance to take more in and look around more.  Looking around more let me realize – um, wow, I just walked behind Anthony Hopkins (who plays Odin).  Because, you know, no one knows him, right? Thank you to Disney for covering my trip expenses to allow me to attend this great event!  All words and opinions are my own.

Some days you wake up to happy surprises.  You find $5 in the pocket of the jeans you put on, your spouse filled your gas tank so you don’t have to stop on the way to work, maybe the person in front of you at the coffee shop pays for your latte.  And then there’s the surprise I woke up to the other day.

On that day, I opened an email that I had to read a couple of times to actually soak in.  I was being invited to travel to LA and attend the red carpet premiere of Thor: The Dark World (in theaters 11/8)!  Yep, that’s right – myself, along with 24 other bloggers, will soon be jumping on planes and heading to California.  The Avengers and all the stand-alone movies that support the characters is one of my all-time favorite franchises, so this is incredibly exciting for me. Last week my husband and I had the pleasure of attending an advanced screening of Marvel’s The Avengers.  We knew right away that it was going to be a big hit: lots of action, laughter, and even a tiny bit of romance.  What we didn’t know, though, was just how big of a hit it was going to be.

It turned out to be one for the record books – literally.  The Avenger’s ended up posting over $200 million in it’s domestic debut, making it the highest-grossing domestic debut of all time.  It grossed $69.7 million on Saturday the 5th, which is the highest Saturday take of all time.

This is not a movie to miss, folks.  Seriously. Continue reading »
