If you’re not familiar with Minted they are a global community of independent graphic designers that create beautiful products. They’re probably the most comprehensive site that I’ve found. In addition to the cards, invitations, and thank you notes for weddings, birthdays, and births that you would expect, they also have journals, art prints, and stationary.
Remember what it was like leaving home to head off to college? If you were like me, no matter how independent you thought you were, it wasn’t long before you missed your Mom! I’m sure that even though Sully was dreaming of becoming a Scarer he, too, probably missed his Mom once he arrived at Monsters University (though being part of the OK fraternity gave him some support to get through those lonely moments). Maybe he should have been like “Squishy” Squibbles and continue living at home with his doting mother, Ms. Squibbles.
Whatever their living situation, all the monsters want to show their appreciation for Moms everywhere. They are sharing their sentiment through the image above. Kids love opportunities to celebrate – and they love excuses to stay up late even more! New Year’s Eve addresses both of those joys. But staying up until midnight or later can be rough on (or impossible for) some kids and sometimes the thought of dealing with tomorrow’s crankiness from lack of sleep can be a little daunting for parents. The new year is just around the corner and it’s the perfect time to get – and stay! – organized. Over the next year I’ll be bringing you articles filled with organizing tips, cleaning plans, lists, printables, and more in an effort to help you be on top of your game. It’ll be a good way for me to make sure that we’re staying organized, too!
To kick off your holiday decoration storage and organization, start by taking advantage of these after-Christmas sales and stock up on plastic storage bins. Walmart and Target (as well as other places, I’m sure) generally discount them more at this time of year than any other. Try to pick up a few in different colors. If you’re looking for some cute Halloween pumpkin carving ideas here are four free templates! They are from Disney’s Frankenweenie (which is in theaters now – go see it!). The designs might look more challenging than a basic toothy grin but they actually have step-by-step carving instructions and tips to make it easy.
We’re heading back to the pumpkin patch next weekend for more pumpkins so I imagine we’ll be up to our elbows in Frankenweenie jack o’lanterns and roasted pumpkin seeds!
