We have a new tablet that Bubbles is very excited about.  We spend a little time snuggling at night and she gets to use it with me, to play a few educational games, maybe watch a couple of videos.  And once I showed her that we could use it to read some of her favorite books, she was thrilled.

Learning to read with Disney Story Central digital books

For over a year now we’ve been accessing great Disney books through Disney Story Central’s app on my iPhone.  It’s been great to have for on-the-go entertainment, but being able to let her read and listen on a bigger, brighter screen has been a treat for her.  And watching her learn to read more words is a treat for me. Pinterest is, even after all these years, still probably one of my favorite websites.  There are tons of great DIY ideas, tantalizing recipes, and just plain pretty stuff.  There are enough projects there to keep me busy for probably the rest of my life.

Easy Kids DIY Hair Accessory Organizer for hair bows, headbands and hair clips. No tools and no glue gun needed! Done in under 15 minutes.

While I usually have the intent of making each recipe or completing each project that I pin, I do keep one board of pins that are for more immediate inspiration.  Things I know, for sure, that I want to try – whenever I get some elusive “free time”.  This kids DIY hair accessory organizer is one of those things. I received these Disney music CDs in order to facilitate my post. All words and opinions are my own.

One of the things I love most about Disney movies is the music that accompanies them.  It always plays such an integral role in the storytelling.  Which is why Disney soundtracks and other Disney music CDs make up a good portion of my music library.

Great new Disney music CDs and soundtracks are available, including Disney's Into the Woods, Guardians of the Galaxy Awesome Mix Vol. 1, Disney Junior DJ Shuffle 2, and Disney Frozen The Songs

Recently I received an awesome mix of Disney music CDs that made the entire family happy.  Bubbles was thrilled with the Frozen and Disney Junior CDs, hubby immediately snagged the Guardians of the Galaxy Awesome Mix Vol. 1 (which I also love), and I was excited to get Into the Woods. Bubbles has been very excited about Valentine’s Day this year.  I think part of it is how closely it both follows Christmas and precedes her birthday.  It’s just an exciting time of year.

She has been asking what we’re going to do to celebrate Valentine’s Day, and as this is the first year she’s showed much interest, I’m leaving it up to her.  (Within reason, of course.)  So while that’s unlikely to mean a fancy dinner out for hubby and I, it will mean a lot of family fun for all of us, and I prefer that any day of the week, anyway.

Just thinking about Jake & The Neverland Pirates the fun theme song pops into my mind.  Sometimes a song getting in your head like that isn’t a great thing, but when it’s Jake it’s awesome.  It puts a little bounce in your step and a smile on your face.

Disney Junior's Jake and the Neverland Pirates Battle for the Book - comes with a fun (free!) checkerboard bandana game and tokens right in the case.

Jake and his friends are characters we really enjoy.  In fact the LeapFrog LeapTV Disney Jake and The Never Land Pirates game has become Bubbles very favorite to play on our LeapTV. And, of course, we watch on Disney Junior. Continue reading »
