There were lots of movies growing up that showed the future and imagined the technology that would, someday, become available.  One of the most fascinating to me as a kid was the concept of virtual reality.  And now not only do we have VR technology, we have mobile virtual reality.

The future is here! Mobile Virtual Reality can come to your home with the Samsung Gear VR

I remember going to an arcade when I was in college, and they had a handful of VR games.  You had to put on these huge pieces of head gear to give you the full VR experience.  I never really expected to see a time when you’d be able to condense the size enough that you’d find them commercially viable. Thank you for Povi for partnering on this post. All opinions are my own.

Helping young kids understand how to explain what they’re feeling can be a challenge.  Frustration, sadness, joy -those are concepts that aren’t easy to put into words, especially if they don’t know why they are feeling them.

Povi is the new EQ toy to help you discuss emotions with your child

The all-new Povi is designed to help spark conversation between parents and their children about emotions and feelings.  Povi is an EQ (emotional quotient) content platform and app that uses a cuddly buddy as the delivery tool for the stories. Continue reading »

I’ve mentioned that I really enjoy cleaning and organizing.  So when spring cleaning time rolls around, I’m all in without much prodding.  Especially if I have new organization supplies or cute rubber gloves to play with.

How to make money while you spring clean! Get motivated to clean up when you see how easy it is to make money while you do it.

Not everyone gets quite as pumped at the thought of spring cleaning as I do, however.  My friends have confirmed this for me by the rolling of their eyes when I talk excitedly about organized drawers. Continue reading »

This post is a partnership with Curious World and the One2One Network. All thoughts and experiences are my own.

Lately Bubbles has been soaking up books like a sponge and surprising us every day at just how much she wants to learn – and how much she’s actually retaining.  The other day she asked for a piece of paper and her crayons.  Ten minutes later she returns with a letter she wrote for Ashley and had actually written out “Sissy” at the top and her own name at the bottom.

Bubbles loves playing Curious World on my iPhone

I want to keep the momentum going for her while she’s still interested so I’ve been on the lookout for new apps or services that can provide more educational opportunities for her.  Recently we found the Curious World app that has hundreds of educational books, games, and videos for kids age 3-7. I’ve been a “gamer girl” for a long time.  Console games, PC games, online games – even board and card games. I just love to play.

The new Trove game is a free online MMO that gives you lots of adventure, crafting and more!

Hubs is a gamer, too, though neither of us really have as much time to play these days as we did before Bubbles was born.  But when new games that sound interesting or when additional titles to our favorite franchises are released, we definitely make a point to check them out. Continue reading »
