I received Monopoly Empire and Transformers products in order to facilitate my review. All thoughts and words are my own.

I have long loved the board game Monopoly.  There were some serious marathons of the game in my house growing up, too.  My father has more patience than any person I’ve ever met and he would sit for hours upon hours and play with me, long after others had given up.

Monopoly Empire Board Game from Hasbro

While the classic version will probably always be my favorite, we definitely are having fun with one of the newest iterations, Monopoly Empire.  In Monopoly Empire everything – the properties, the pieces, the cards – get a little shake-up with modern twists.  You won’t see a battleship or Board Walk, but you will see a Coca-Cola bottle and Samsung. Thank you to the Brew Over Ice crew for providing supplies that inspired this post on end of summer party ideas.  All words and opinions are my own.

While in Chicago at the Sweet Suite event one of the things that took my eye was the iced drinks bar.  They had multiple Keurig machines lined up, buckets full of ice, and a number of Brew Over Ice beverages from which to choose.  I loved the look of it so much that I decided to recreate my own little brewing station to combat the heat we’ve been experiencing the last few days.

A Brew Over Ice drink station would be a great addition to any summer or fall party.  Backyard BBQs, pool parties, bridal or baby showers, or just to celebrate the start of a new school year.  Who wouldn’t love to create their own perfect blend of iced coffee, iced tea, or lemonade, to name a few?

I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Banana Boat. In exchange for sharing my sun safety tips, I received product samples and promotional item as a thank you for participating.

We have been spending a lot of time outside this summer enjoying the beautiful weather.  There’s been a little rain, especially towards the start of summer, but all-in-all it’s been really nice.  Bubbles would live outside if we let her; she loves all kinds of outdoors activities.  This summer we’ve splashed in the pool, gone for walks, played in the sandbox, washed the car in our bathing suits, and gone on bike rides.  Too much sun exposure can cause problems down the road, though, so we’ve made sure to take some precautions and follow these five summer sun safety tips.

If you’ve visited Maine in the last few summers you may have heard of the Maine Fairy House Festival held at the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens in Boothbay Harbor.  I personally was never able to attend but it was quite the tradition; fairy houses have always held a special place in the hearts of kids, especially ones that grew up near forests.  I don’t recall making one as a child, but as both Bubbles and I are big Tink fans, I thought it would be something fun to introduce.

Building a DIY fairy house is not only a fun way to create a little magic in your child’s life – it’s also a free summer activity!  In the outdoors with fresh air!  So the next time you have a sunny day and the kids are saying they’re already bored, send them outside to make one.
