Beauty & the Beast

Full 2017 Disney movies slate: Disney's Live-Action Beauty & the Beast on March 17, 2017

The live-action Beauty & the Beast releases on March 17th, which is during my birthday month (hello, brthday present for me).  I adore both Emma Watson (Belle) and Dan Stevens (Beast) and Disney has been killing their live-action versions, so this stands to be great.

Fire up the original animated version and fall back in love with the score Alan Menken (who won two Academy Awards® – Best Original Score and Best Song – for it) wrote and produced.  He’s back for the live version with three brand new songs.  Make my The Grey Stuff Brownie Bites to enjoy while you watch!

Born In China

Full 2017 Disney movies slate: Disneynature's Born In China on April 21, 2017

I love, love Disneynature movies and this one, Born In China, about three animal families living in the wilds of China, looks amazing.  The release date for Born In China is Earth Day, April 21st, and would be great for the whole family.

A doting panda bear mother guides her growing baby as she begins to explore and seek independence. A two-year-old golden monkey who feels displaced by his new baby sister joins up with a group of free-spirited outcasts. And a mother snow leopard—an elusive animal rarely caught on camera—faces the very real drama of raising her two cubs in one of the harshest and most unforgiving environments on the planet. Featuring stunning, never-before-seen imagery, the film navigates China’s vast terrain—from the frigid mountains to the heart of the bamboo forest—on the wings of red-crowned cranes, seamlessly tying the extraordinary tales together.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

Full 2017 Disney movies slate: Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2 on May 5, 2017 - with Baby Groot!

The first Guardians of the Galaxy was awesome.  It was, in fact, so awesome that the soundtrack was called Awesome Mix Vol. 1.  I can’t wait to see the second installment when it hits theaters on May 5th.  Who says no to more Chris Pratt and Baby Groot?  No one – obviously.

Oh, grab these free printable Guardians of the Galaxy coloring pages & activity sheets from the first movie to keep you busy until May.

Set to the all-new sonic backdrop of Awesome Mixtape #2, Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” continues the team’s adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mystery of Peter Quill’s true parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes’ aid as the Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to expand.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales

Full 2017 Disney movies slate: Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales on May 26, 2017

It’s been a hot minute (6 years!) since the last PotC movie so I’m looking forward to the newest chapter when Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales sails into theaters on May 26th.  Jack Sparrow is one of my favorite Johnny Depp roles, and Javier Bardem as a pirate?  Yes, please.

Johnny Depp returns to the big screen as the iconic, swashbuckling anti-hero Jack Sparrow in the all-new “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.” The rip-roaring adventure finds down-on-his-luck Captain Jack feeling the winds of ill-fortune blowing strongly his way when deadly ghost sailors, led by the terrifying Captain Salazar (Javier Bardem), escape from the Devil’s Triangle bent on killing every pirate at sea—notably Jack. Jack’s only hope of survival lies in the legendary Trident of Poseidon, but to find it he must forge an uneasy alliance with Carina Smyth (Kaya Scodelario), a brilliant and beautiful astronomer, and Henry (Brenton Thwaites), a headstrong young sailor in the Royal Navy. At the helm of the Dying Gull, his pitifully small and shabby ship, Captain Jack seeks not only to reverse his recent spate of ill fortune, but to save his very life from the most formidable and malicious foe he has ever faced.

Cars 3

Full 2017 Disney movies slate: Disney/Pixar's Cars 3 on June 16, 2017

I’m just going to go ahead and say it: when I saw the trailer for Cars 3, my breath caught in my throat. Bubbles looked at me and went, “Mama, he’s okay, right?” I don’t know, baby girl, I don’t know. And it’s a long time to wait until June 16th to find out exactly what happens to Lightning McQueen.

We’re not the only ones that felt that way. The trailer (below) for Cars 3 played in the theater just before Moana and the entire theater was absolutely silent. Even the kid behind me that hadn’t stopped kicking my seat or talking since they sat down froze. The Cars and Planes movies are some of my absolute favorite Pixar films and there’s no way this will disappoint.

Blindsided by a new generation of blazing-fast racers, the legendary Lightning McQueen (voice of Owen Wilson) is suddenly pushed out of the sport he loves. To get back in the game, he will need the help of an eager young race technician, Cruz Ramirez (voice of Cristela Alonzo), with her own plan to win, plus inspiration from the late Fabulous Hudson Hornet and a few unexpected turns. Proving that #95 isn’t through yet will test the heart of a champion on Piston Cup Racing’s biggest stage!

Thor: Ragnarok

Full 2017 Disney movies slate: Marvel's Thor: Ragnarok on November 3, 2017

I love the Thor franchise. Attending the red carpet premiere of Thor 2 and my Tom Hiddleston interview (not to mention Jaimie Alexander and Zachary Levi!) was definitely one of the highlights of my blogging career.

In Thor:Ragnarok, while getting to see more Thor and Loki, we also get to see more of The Incredible Hulk!  And I really like Mark Ruffalo in that role.

In Marvel Studios’ “Thor: Ragnarok,” Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok—the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization—at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela. But first he must survive a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against his
former ally and fellow Avenger—the Incredible Hulk!

Coco

Full 2017 Disney movies slate: Disney/Pixar's Coco November 22, 2017

There has not been a Disney/Pixar movie I disliked so I am sure I will love Coco too.  The setting looks neat and appears like there’s going to be some great music, too. Check out Coco on November 22nd.

Despite his family’s baffling generations-old ban on music, Miguel (voice of newcomer Anthony Gonzalez) dreams of becoming an accomplished musician like his idol, Ernesto de la Cruz (voice of Benjamin Bratt). Desperate to prove his talent, Miguel finds himself in the stunning and colorful Land of the Dead following a mysterious chain of events. Along the way, he meets charming trickster Hector (voice of Gael García Bernal), and together, they set off on an extraordinary journey to unlock the real story behind Miguel’s family history. Directed by Lee Unkrich (“Toy Story 3”), co-directed by Adrian Molina (story artist “Monsters University”) and produced by Darla K. Anderson (“Toy Story 3”), Disney•Pixar’s “Coco” opens in U.S. theaters on Nov. 22, 2017.

Star Wars: Episode VIII

Full 2017 Disney movies slate: Star Wars Episode VIII

There’s not yet much information about the newest chapter of the Star Wars saga, but let’s be honest.  It’s going to be amazing.  It’s always amazing!  Be ready on December 15th, and may the force be with you until then!

I really am so torn!  I have no idea which of the 2017 Disney movies I would say I’m most excited for.  I want to see them all for different reasons.  I’m glad we won’t have to wait much longer, as Beauty & the Beast will be here before we know it.

Which of the 2017 Disney movies are you most excited for?
