Let’s be honest, teens are sometimes hard to shop for. They’re too old for “toys” and unless you really know their style, clothes can be a dicey call.
It’s hard to go wrong with tech gifts though. Whether for play, social, study, or work, something that plugs in or comes with a charger is sure to please.
Hot Tech for Teens
The Microsoft Store has lots of hot tech options that would make great holiday gifts for teens. Here are a few of my favorites (and hey, Santa? I might not be a teen any more, but feel free to toss one of these on the sleigh for me).
Personalized Xbox Wireless Controller – Teens love gifts personalized to their tastes. With more than 8 million possible color combinations you’ll definitely be able to create just the right item. If you’re not 100% sure what they’d like you can give them a digital code so they can create their own.
Oculus Rift VR Headset – I promise you will be the favorite aunt/uncle/papaw/really generous neighbor/etc. if you show up with a virtual reality headset. This is the tech my generation has been wanting since we were five and now you can bring it home and wear it.
Raspberry Pi 3 – Remember when your parents told you video games and playing on the computer would get you nowhere in life? Turns out that wasn’t true at all. Give teens a jumpstart on computer programming with this simple single-board computer that will teach them the basics of coding. Everyone I know that has one of these loves it.
Microsoft Surface Pro – A powerhouse of a tablet, the Microsoft Surface Pro is a thing of beauty. It runs Windows and the Microsoft Office suite making it a great choice for writing school papers. The PixelSense Display gives budding artists free range of design with either the pen or their finger. And the two front-facing speakers running on Dolby Audio Premium will let them listen to their favorite tunes no matter where they are.
Now through December 24th you can save $150 on the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 i5 128GB.
Accessories & Downloads – Oh and don’t forget the stocking stuffers. Toss in a Microsoft Store gift card and they can use it to download music, movies, or TV shows; games for their phone, PC, or Xbox; or accessories like headphones or speakers.
Want a little help playing Santa? Enter the giveaway below for your chance to win a $500 Microsoft Store gift card! Entry Requirements: US ONLY, 18 years and older, Giveaway runs from 12-9, 2016 to 1-6, 2017 11:59 PM EST. One winner.
