I don’t recall seeing the first Alvin & the Chipmunks live(ish?) action movie, but I have watched the cartoon from time to time.  And who hasn’t heard the Chipmunks Christmas song, right?

I’m normally up for watching just about anything, though, so when our friends at Entenmann’s Little Bites offered to provide us with a digital download code for Alvin & the Chipmunks: Road Chip I was definitely game.  Even better, they were sending a couple boxes of Entenmann’s Little Bites Chocolate Chip-Munk Muffins for us to enjoy while we watched.

I ended up pre-screening the movie on my own when I was working late one night.  It’s rated PG for mild rude humor, which I didn’t really notice a lot of.  It’s very upbeat in general, with plenty of singing and dancing.

The main theme running through the movie is about family: fitting in, becoming one and that family has each other’s backs.  Dave is dating a new lady friend named Samantha who has a son named Miles.  The Chipmunks’ first impression of Miles isn’t so great and they hatch a plot to break Dave and Samantha up.

You know what they say about the best laid plans, though, and the Chipmunks find themselves in all sorts of trouble, including angering an air marshal and finding themselves on the no fly list.  They also have quite a bit of fun, like dancing to “Uptown Funk” through the streets of New Orleans.

A couple of the songs I was a little surprised to see in a movie for little kids, but there’s no nudity or swearing or anything.  It would be a fun addition to family movie night, especially when you hand out Entenmann’s Chocolate Chip-Munk Little Bites to everyone!

Our friends at Entenmann’s would like you to have a Chip-tastic family movie night, too!  So they’ve given me a prize pack like the one that was sent to me, to give away to you.  In includes a digital HD download copy of Alvin & the Chipmunks: Road Chip, two boxes of Entenmann’s Chocolate Chip-Munk Little Bites, four $5 off Entenmann’s coupons and some activity sheets.  Giveaway closed – congrats Louie B.

Who will you watch Road Chip with?
