This Saturday is the national Free Seat Check Saturday. are going to be events all over the country, but if you’re in the Louisville area, I have the event you’re going to want to attend!

Before I get into all the details, did you know that according to Safe Kids, 73% of car seats are installed incorrectly?  That’s a crazy-high number, but it’s one I can understand.  There’s a lot to read up on and understand: LATCH or no LATCH, what’s considered “armpit level” for the chest clip, rear- or forward-facing?

Free Car Seat Safety Check at the Seat Check Saturday Event in Jeffersontown, KY this Saturday, 9/19/15

Do yourself (and your kiddo) a favor and stop into one of these free seat check Saturday events.  If Grammie & Grampie or your caregiver have a car seat installed in their car, invite them to come along, too.

Seat Check Saturday – Jeffersontown, KY

When: Saturday, September 19, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. EST
Where: Valvoline Instant Oil Change (9903 Taylorsville Rd. Jeffersontown, KY)
What: A team of Safety 1st certified car seat technicians will check the safety of car seats FREE of charge.

There will also be activities for the kids like face painting and a magic show with Steve-0 the Magician.  There will also be many chances to win prizes including a grand prize raffle giveaway every hour for the new Safety 1st Grow and Go Convertible Car Seat for babies and kids 5 – 100 pounds.

In addition you’re encouraged to bring old, expired or unsafe car seats to be properly recycled by Safety 1st.  All attendees who bring in a car seat to be recycled will receive a special gift from Safety 1st.  The car seats will be taken to the Dorel Technical Center in Columbus, IN to be recycled in a special machine which breaks down the plastic which is then re-used for Dorel Juvenile products manufactured in the Columbus facility.
