It’s been warm enough to count as summer here for awhile, but for some reason mid-June has always felt like the ‘official’ start to summer for me.  Probably because during my middle school and high school years school always released around this time.  I guess I still have a case of “school’s out for the summer”.

Free Printable Checklist of Summer Bucket List Ideas for the Whole Family - don't forget to make fresh lemonade, go camping in your backyard, and catch some fireworks!

Bubbles has started to give suggestions of things she wants to do this summer and places she wants to go.  We’re also trying to include Austin and his thoughts in our summer planning as he’ll be leaving for boot camp in about a month.  So we’ve come up with some summer bucket list ideas that the whole family can enjoy (you can click the image above for a printable pdf version).

Summer Bucket List Ideas

We were watching TV not long ago and the family in the show went to a drive-in movie.  It’s increasingly hard to find a drive-in movie theater around the country, so I modified that bucket list item to just a backyard movie night.  Make it extra-special with some DIY drive-in movie cars and create a concession stand with popcorn and M&M’s®. If you don’t have a projector to use outside the drive-in can take place in your living room, too.

Make sure a trip to your local zoo is one of your summer bucket list ideas!

The zoo is something that every member of our family really enjoys so another visit or two before Austin leaves is definitely one of our summer bucket list ideas. Our local zoo has a lion that can really put on a show so we’ll park ourselves in the shade, much some M&M’s® Peanut and listen to him roar. I’ve heard that some libraries even let you check out family passes to the zoo, so this could even be a free family activity!

Make your own DIY bubbles as one of your summer bucket list ideas

Blowing bubbles is something that is done around here often and we go through gallons of bubble mix.  So I thought it would be fun for us to make some of our own bubble solution.  You can even make your own DIY bubble wands to make it a true “from scratch” project.

Summer Bucket List Ideas: Play a round of Putt Putt Mini Golf with the whole family

Of course, you can’t forget things like putt-putt mini golf, spending a full day wearing your PJs, catching at least one fireworks display, and visiting an amusement park.  Anything that will let you have fun as a family is perfect to include in your summer bucket list ideas.

XXL big bag of M&M's®, M&M's® Peanut and M&M's® Crispy at Sam's Club

Swing by Sam’s Club to stock up on the XXL big bag of M&M’s® Original, M&M’s® Peanut, and M&M’s® Crispy so you’ll have plenty on hand to snack on as you knock out your summer bucket list ideas.  Our local Sam’s Club was out of M&M’s® Crispy, but I picked us up a few bags of M&M’s® Original and M&M’s® Peanut for all our summer fun.

Delicious M&M's® and M&M's® Peanut available in the XXL big bags - great for snacking all summer long
